I recently got back from a month in Bolivia, during which I spent 10 days in the Amazon basin. I am now official obsessed with the jungle/rain forest environments/the tropics in general. I fucking hate winter, especially in Ohio where I go to school (Boston, my home town, has similar winters of course, but for some reason I find them more tolerable - less wind, I think).
Anyhoo, now Im feeling the need to read some good jungle lore, preferably non-fiction adventure books. Ive already read up on the topic a little bit via my interest in the military.
My recommendations:

I can't find a link to the pdf (trust me, I tried)
But here's the name if you are interested:
Where the Gods Right: Plants and Peoples of the Colombian Amazon
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medicine_Man_%28film%29 (It's not a book, but ...)
Also, did you do any exotic drugs down there? Meet some interesting endemics? Serious, Bolivia is FUCKING AWESOME. All I gots to say is that's where Trichocereus spp. are from. I'm looking forward to hearing more.
