Motherboard Shopping

So as of late I've managed to "find" an AMD Phenom II X6 1045T CPU and along with two sticks of 2GB DDR3 I've been saving for a rainy day I'm looking to build a new computer. The only problem being I'm a bit rusty when it comes to motherboard specs.

After reading the Tech FAQ I was wondering if any of the techies on here had any brand recommendation or any broad bits of advice to heed when narrowing down my search on Newegg and other respective sites.

Personally, I'd go for an Asus Motherboard everytime. They have yet to let me down - I'm currently rocking the Asus P5N-D and it's pretty awesome. Only a few complaints about it, but they're really nothing too major. When looking for new Motherboards, make sure you think ahead to what you're wanting to stick in it. Make sure everything is compatible!
