Yes, you can upgrade to Windows 8 Release Preview from Windows 8 Consumer Preview, Windows Developer Preview, Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP, but you might not be able to keep all of your files, programs, and settings. The following table shows what you can keep during an upgrade depending on the current version of Windows running on your PC:

Basically you can upgrade from CP to RP (lol) but you will loose some of the files. In any case, I will DL it and upgrade my VM.

I was thinking of installing this release but the one I have works just fine for what I use it for.
All in all I might just skip it alltogather, win 7 does what i need it to do.
Windows 9 will be here before you know it.

Yeah, it looks good but I don't see many new improvements that would entice me to upgrade. The tile interface is cool but thats about it, it's not like going from XP to Windows 7.

Don't bother upgrading, stick with Windows 7. Unless you're using a tablet type interface or have a touch screen.

I've seen Windows 8, and it looks pretty crud. It doesn't really look like a computer, it just seems like an xbox or something, it doesn't really FEEL like a computer. It has an artificial kind of feel. I wasn't really a fan.
