Help a sick cat

Hi, I am 13 years old and live in south carolina. I have a 14 year old kitty named Mr. Mittens. He has been sick lately with urinary infections. I came here to learn more about how to care for an older kitty and to try to raise some money to get his surgery. I have been babysitting and helping neighbors and only need 100 more dollars to get his surgery. My vet is a nice lady and is doing it for costs. If you could help please do. 14 years old? Thats pretty old for a cat he is probably going to die in a year anyway even if you do fix his problem. I wouldn't waste the money if I were you
