I'm pretty sure I suffer from a short attention span, but I believe I don't have add. My question is, is how does a person lengthen their attention span without doing drugs?
As mentioned above, exercise and a proper diet will certainly help you gain focus. I would also heavily suggest trying some form of meditation. Meditating is a great way to help you find focus and calmness with your life, plus it just makes you feel better overall.
Also, get some of this tea. It's called Yerba Mate. Delicious and it will keep you on track, as well as awake.
Keep trying to focus longer and longer. Ever hear of neuroplasticity? Basically is is a theory that states that the brain is like plastic because it can be "molded" from experience. So the more you focus, the more easier it will become over time.
A lot of the above posts are great. Derelict had the best answer IMO. Meditation is the only way. Through controlling your thoughts time after time; bringing back your mind to the point you are concentrating, again and again and again. That's the only way I have come across the rest are only temporary.

This.
First year of Uni I had to learn about shit I hated. The entire course was a drag and that year I was wondering if I'd do anything I liked.
Year 2 is here, and I do work I love! There's just a shitload of it...and when I say shitload, I mean a shitload.
