Honestly, why would you buy diet coke when you could have the real deal? If you're on a diet, you shouldn't be drinking like shit anyway so there really is no excuse for it.

I like making my own sodas with simple syrup, flavorings like ginger and lime, and soda water. Usually they are about half as sweet as commercial ones.
