Computers not recieving gigabit connection

I have a 60 mb/s connection and when my computer is directly connected to the modem, speedtests show I get ~59 which is perfect.

However once I connect my PC to a switch to a router to a modem, speeds drop to ~20-25. Then if I tried connecting the PC to a router to the modem, the same occurs. Is there any router configuration for gigabit speeds? The 1000 mb/s* lights are blinking and I've tried several routers.

Router: linksys rvs4000

Is there any specific router configuration for enabling gigabit speeds or something? Oh, and my PC and the some of the other PCs in the network have gigabit network cards.

Yes. But the cables from the switch to the other PCs aren't. The server is connected via the switch with a Cat6 cable.

Hey that was Pacino, not me

I was reading that if you use the wrong connector on a cat6 cable, it can degrade performance. All of the cat6 cables were bought from radioshack so I'm guessing it isn't a problem.

if its not a high grade RJ45 on the end then maybe so

dont buy cheap patch cables, and its best to get solid copper not stranded

What just happened? I didn't say anything bad??

@Pacino, the cables were pretty pricey so I'm guessing they're high quality?

Nope, the switch is another piece of hardware. It's a server, modem, router, switch, and 10 computers or so. I'll look up the switch's model number as soon as I get home.
