Validating Windows 7

A while back I got a legit copy of windows 7 and installed it on my computer. I have since put together a new system and had to reinstall windows seven using the same installation disk. Because I had already used the activation code once before and the version I bought said it was only good for one activation, I typed in the code while installing windows 7 disconnected from the internet so it wouldn't automatically check. I haven't had any problems with it until today when my wallpaper was set to black and a window popped up telling me I was a victim of software piracy and my copy of Windows 7 wasn't valid.

I know it is valid, and I don't feel like I should have to buy another copy to reinstall windows on a new computer while using the hard drive it was originally installed on. That is bullshit. So, how can I fix this? Will it let me validate it online? Can I just keep ignoring it? I mean they can't just like not let me boot any more right?

Tl;dr: how can I validate a genuine copy of windows I've already installed once, or do I even need to?

If it is a "Legit" version like you said then you should be OK to call Microsoft up and tell them you need a new key. In case you forgot, Microsoft added that new anti-piracy bullshit way back in Windows XP and ever since it has been limited to 3 devices you can add/replace in your system before the key becomes inactive. Now, I am preeetttyyy sure if it's legal it constantly checks up with Microsoft to keep tabs on your settings and monitor along with the Operating Systems own system logs.

If calling them up doesn't get you a new key then you can move to an activator, or whichever suits you. At least with an activator you wont have to worry about it ever again.

    Windows 7 1.8.4 Loader - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=8OZVLH4R

it's RARed so you need to unRAR it and if you don't see the nfo/txt file aka named "DAZ" that gives instructions on how to use it. You can use Notepad to open it.

I hope you didn't update your OS with the patch KB971033 from Microsoft. It's usually "Optional" and people hide it because if you download it with a legit or illegit copy it immediately makes your system unusable. You might want to look around your updates and see if it's there. If it is and hasn't been installed make sure to right click and select "Hide" so it will never accidently download.

If you did install that there is a guide to remove it here:

Good luck. I've never used the Windows Loaders but I know they work. I usually download the full pirated copy that never requires a CD Key, Always shows Geniune, and is flawless.

Yeah I tried typing in the activation code again but it says "The product key you typed cannot be used to activate Windows on this computer."

I guess I'll download a keygen or something.

Alright, I'll definitely call them first. And download the loader for future purposes or if calling fails, thanks for the link.

If calling them fails, try removeWAT.

The popup is caused by a specific update - Shit happened to me not too long ago.

Uninstall the update, and then patch Windows with some kind of crack thing I found on Google.

That was Windows Activation Technology Update. I have set my Windows update to manual download/install, once you find that update right click it and hide it.

removeWAT works, thats what I use on my laptop which doesn't have a legit key for Windows 7. I use linux most of the time on that though, so it doesn't even bother me.

Using Ubuntu right now as a matter of fact

removeWAT doesn't even activate Windows, all it does is edit the reg files to disable WAT and lets your update. I never tried passing the genuine check via the site, it'll probably get picked up.

Interesting, didn't know about that. I have a pirated Windows 7, just checked my update history and I have that patch installed (for 2 months) and never had a problem, so...?

Hmm do you have a legal or illegal version and did you get the version of Windows that you had to manually apply the crack or that came pre-cracked on install? I loaded the disc that comes pre-cracked and gave it to my dad to install on his friends PC and he accidently installed it and it fucked his shit up and turned the desktop theme to all black and told him features are disabled until he can verify his copy.

I think I had to apply the crack, was 6 months or so ago now so hard to remember. I did have to use the activator though if that's what you mean? Illegal I think, download from tpb. I guess it doesn't matter anyway, if it was going to fuck up it would have done it by now. I'll be more careful what I update in the future though, just been installing all updates til now.

Well I called Microsoft support, and after sitting on hold for 20 minutes I decided it wasn't worth it and went with an activator. I used Chew-WGA and it worked perfectly.

    Fuck you microsoft.

Did you talk to the automated bot or some Indian representative? Either one only takes max 6 minutes.

Hahaha. You should have rubbed it in a little more by waiting for someone to pick up again, and telling them that you were going with an activator.
