Do we really view the world in 3D?

At any point in time your vision is capturing a 2 dimensional landscape. If your eyes could take photographs every time they shifted focus it would be a series of 2 dimensional images with the illusion of 3 dimensions, just like any other photo. We assume that we are perceiving 3 dimensionally because we can change our focus and navigate the world around us, but it is still a series of 2 dimensional stills running through our perception in a liniar progression. Do we just assume we perceive the world in 3D or is it actually a trick of perception? If this is true how is it possible, at least visually, to extend beyond our current limits?

The information from two different perspectives(eyes) is captured and intelligently assembled by our brain into a 3d image.

You don't need 2 eyes to live in a 3d world. I'm blind in my left eye and I still view the world in 3D, judt not exactly the same way due to a lack of binocular vision.
