Sticking Analog Sticks on PS3 controller

Is is possible to fix sticking analog sticks on a PS3 controller? I seem to remember doing it with my old Xbox controller by opening it up and giving it some lube, but I've heard that PS3 controllers are hard to put back together again. Plus it's my friend's control and I don't want to fuck it up. Trying to play Euro Truck Simulator today with a sticking analog stick and I kept jacknifing into cars :facepalm:

Try putting some non-conducting lube into the sides of the thing where it slides around.

In my experience, when a controller is beat its time to get a new one. I personally have destroyed a N64 controller, two gamecube controllers, and a couple ps2 controllers. I had the up button on a ps2 paddle stick and is constantly have to massage it and then L1 L2 L3 R1 R2 R3 it to reset the position. It'd randomly fuck up during last laps of long races on Nfs:Underground2 or during important boss fights on FFXII.
