If you run ubuntu: Terminal this.
    sudo apt-get install ttf-mscorefonts-installer

    This will install microsoftcocks fonts.

Or perhaps you were wanting a specific type of font dude then you would do something like theeeeesssss.
    1. Go to /home/angry_onion_bro/
    2. "ctrl + h" to enable hidden shit
    3. Make a new folder with name “.fonts” (don't forget the ".")
    4. Download some ".ttf" from dafont or where eva and place them in the folder
    5. Now restart and new fonts will be in use.

If it's just visual eyecandy your after dude, then try this place:
    http://gnome-look.org/

I guess now would be a silly time to ask what linux distro you're using? :(

    Simple fix, install MS fonts.

Linux is terrible when it comes to fonts. The fonts you want are TrueType fonts.

EDIT: Bk beat me to it.

You might also want to take a look at the Ubuntu font family, that shit looks so nice.

Nice. I haven't used Mint in a long while, I've never even heard of "Mint13 Cinnamin" before! Any questions regarding Linux, just post them in the forums. We've all got some Linux experience here, especially Slartibartfast :D

See, that's my problem, the redneck knows more than I do:facepalm:
BK I'm not qualified to give a review, all I know is that it works ok and it has not crashed yet.
I installed MS fonts but now I don't know where they are.No big deal I only screw around with linux stuff just for fun,I don't care if it breaks.

on my system the fonts are located in: /usr/share/fonts/

Probably the same for mint. you don't really have to anything with them though, they're already installed. you can also drag any ttf into that folder and they'll be detected (after running sudo fc-cache)

I'm tempted to install that Mint CD I've had laying around for the last 5 years onto a VM and play about with it. It's seriously out of date though, I have a feeling the updating process would last all year :D

It's all good! Don't need a review. It's just me being lazy and not downloading the live cd to trial it. :p

Do you have font size issues of something dude?

I think a few people are having font problems with Mint13 from size to bold etc. There are some Qs and solutions in the Mint forum.
Seems like a pretty well supported distro judging by their forum....

I ditched mint and redid my system today.
Now I boot off of a win 7 40 gig intel solid state hard drive and have a secondary hybrid drive.
This thing is FAST.If you don't know what a hybrid drive is this is the one I have.
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148591
    So far so good.
  • edited June 2012
Wow, never heard of a hybrid drive before. That thing looks awesome! I'd definitely do what you did and boot my main OS off the actual SSD, leaving the hybrid drive for data and other shit. Good going
  • angryonionangryonion Just some guy
    edited June 2012
Like I said so far so good,I'm not sure how much the secondary hybrid drive speeds things up but the solid state primary drive kicks ass.
When I get some extra time I will order up another hybrid drive and reinstall Mint on it.
See the case I use has a port for 2.5" hard drives right on the front so I can swap drives around without opening the case, need another OS no problem just shut down swap it and reboot.
    P8190547.jpg
    Works real nice.

I like the 2.5 drive swap space. I leave my case open because I'm always checking and formatting HDs. (I'm to tight arsed to buy a usb to HD plug.)
  • edited June 2012
That drive port on the front is so awesome, that must be super handy when it comes to swapping drives about. Where did you get it?
