R.I.P Little Kitten [August 5 2012 Pakistan]

I have always loved animals or had a connection with them; I did however find it hard to like dogs. You can say I am not a Dog person which could be true. In the past I had the chance to pet some different animals, usually cats were treated as my nemesis because back in the day I used to have cute rabbits and chickens and ducks and then goats. My mom loves being a farmer for some reason. When I was in Karachi I did a horrible thing to a cat, I got a long stick and ran after a cat. I was a kid at that time, an idiot to be honest. So, I chased the cat and cornered her and with the light stick I launched a single blow which hit its intended mark. Although the hit wasn't that hard but I could sense it was really strong. The scream the cat uttered literally stopped my heart; it was as if I heard one of the most painful scream ever. To this day, that one scream gives me chill. Thankfully the cat wasn't hurt but I was hurt badly (emotionally) . In my stupid playfulness I hurt an animal. Most people don't admit their dark past but I keep them open just to remind me of what I have done. This is the only place I can share it without worrying about things.

That one scream was enough to turn me around; from that day onwards I never hurt any cats. Yes, I did muscle them, stretch them and do some weird stuff like dressing them up, tying things and just random fun, but never used force or something that can hurt them. IMO cats are flexible they're quite hard to hurt and they can handle a lot of tough treatment. Since we settled in this home, I have to deal with random cats from time to time. My mum is super sensitive to animals which is why I tend to respond to them as well.

She saved one cat from another male cat and then we took care of it. He became quite strong and we used to have fun with him. He is still alive but he got kicked by another male cat that tries to roam around this home but always has to deal with me. Unlike others pets we don't keep cats in the house, we keep them open, they roam free and don't rely on us and we need to play with them, we just grab them and have fun. They cats know this rule quite well. They're trained in this.

Few months back this one cat decided to have kids. She kept them in the backyard with the boiler and as expected we were forced to take care of them. They were three originally, one male two females. The male one was cute as hell. But he disappeared like all male cats, I blame the new male cat because I am sure he killed him and forced my male cat to runaway (he was old). So, the two remaining cats were extremely fun. You could grab them and make them dance; you can flex them and run with them. They were just a cute couple, twin sisters always running around breaking stuff.

I played with them a lot; feed them daily, kept an eye on them. Unfortunately they have a habit of finding stupid places to hide in or sleep in. Our car is always parked in the garage and the cats would just go in and sit on top of the engine. We discovered this a week ago and kept an eye on things. I had to use a cat check before taking car out this includes manual inspection of the car and a head count of the cats. In most cases I wouldn’t find them near the car but this day…

As expected he got in the car, didn’t check for the cats and drove out. We got a call later from him stating that he saw the grey/white kitten come out of the car while he was drying away. He ran towards the scene only to find the kitten still. I picked it up carefully and got back home. I didn’t detect any physical injuries; I gently pressed the body and moved the legs to see if anything got crashed. Didn’t detect any signal from the cat. She was literally blacked out.
I did some random test including the call the Cat Doctor which basically means calling the mother cat to get a look on the kitten. Her twin sister responded quickly and started licking the cat and I was hopeful she would survive but when I forced the mother cat to acknowledge the kitten, she ran away three times. That made everything clear to me. I left the cat there and went inside, I wanted to wait a full hour to see if she will recover or respond.
After an hour I saw the cat on the chair with her mouth drooling. I knew it was the end. I checked the cat again, she was stiff and warm. There was some fluid discharge from her anus and her mouth but it wasn’t much. Fearing that this could become a health hazard I went to work. I cleaned the garage and washed it as well. It wasn’t required but I needed some closure and cleaning helps.
I then found a piece of my old trousers. I took the semi stiff cat and placed in the cloth. I made sure she was covered from head to toe. I was following the Islamic code of burial, although I didn’t wash the cat I follow the rest of the procedure.

I dug the grave beside a growing grapevine. Placed the cat there and tried another time to check for any vital signs. I didn’t see any and then I caressed the cat for the last time. I tried to remember her good memories and all the fun we had in the past. I didn’t cry, I was totally expecting to cry but I will be honest with you, when it comes to the dead I just switch to another mode which is clinical in every way. I could be a pretty good candidate for performing autopsy.
With the last good bye, I marked her grave with a marble slap, a plastic ball and some sticks. I got up and washed my hands and decided to write about her. I know the story seems a bit off but it’s just different things time.
It does hurt a bit losing a cat, I know a lot of you might have played with a cat in the past, they’re really cute creatures, you just cat stop loving them and it’s always sad to see someone die especially in this fashion. This isn’t my first burial, in the past I have buried many different animals, from birds to rabbits and even cats. I treat them with respect not for religious reasons but because it’s the way I believe in.
So, RIP little grey/white cat. You lived a short yet happy life, I hope you’re having fun in the afterlife and before anyone says that it doesn’t exist for animals and is only reserved for humans, prove it. Heaven and hell is only just a word for me. I am agnostic, so I won’t deny any claim but I am free to use this reference in whatever fashion I want.

Sorry to hear about your kitten bro. I have had many cats throughout my life and it always sucks when they go, particularly when they are young.
R.I.P Little Kitteh, he's mauling mice in heaven now.

Once again, sorry about your kitten bro. :(

I'm an animal person. I have 2 kittens (Which I scored recently) and a dog. (They get on well)
My main problem with pets is the attachment you get. We tend to outlive animals therefore we have to suffer when the bond is broken by death.

Ahh, really sorry to hear that mate. Animals are part of the family and it hurts no less when they pass away.

That's an awesome pic! I had my cat put down a few weeks ago and I spent his final night fussing him as he couldn't walk to the litter tray etc. Was horrible. And then the one before that. So our "teenage" cat is alone.

I have 2 kittens who tend to think I'm their mother or some shit. They follow me fucking everywhere. It's kinda cute but rather annoying as well. They always run in front of me. I can't put my keyboard on my lap because they always try to crash out there. They get site of the mouse pointer on screen. They jump off my lap & attack it. The biggest pain in the arse is when they walk all over my keyboard when I'm not there and browse porn.
