What is/was your MOS and why did you choose it?

What MOS did you pick? Was there a certain reason you picked it?

I chose 13D or Automated Tactical Data System Specialist, basicly positioning for the artillery rounds.

I chose it because my best friend enlisted as 13B, I didn't see the appeal of that job at the time, I wanted something with computers yet combat at the same tmie, so I chose 13D because I knew 13B's work with the 13D's

Plus I got the 30,000 bonus for 3 years with 13D.

    11b. 82nd Airborne.

No other civilian job equivalent, and I already had my bachelors, so no Army MOS was going to specifically ensure me a job anywhere in civvie life. Not that it does anyway. Looks good on a resume, but that's about it.

Yeah, I havn't met too many people who were actually able to transfer into a good civilian job from their job in the military. I don't know why it matters really though anyways, you can go get an education from the military pretty easily.

    11B - Infantry

Although I received a high GT score, it was just something I always wanted to be. My philosophy was that if you joined the military to fight, why not be the one with the gun? I could have chose any MOS but two with my score, and I still chose not to. I loved it and hated it but I wouldn't take it back or change it one bit. If I had to join again I wouldn't join 11B though lol.

I agree with all that you said, even the last bit :p

I got nearly perfect on the ASVAB and GT as well. My philosophy was the same as yours.

68R Veterinary food inspector. Why did i choose it? Because i wanted my college money and it sounded like a bullshit job. Pretty much everyone else in the army was unaware this job existed.

You inspect the dogs food stuffs? That sounds fucking BOOOORRRRING. 4 years of that? I hated all the BS work I had to do as a grunt early on, but I wouldn't trade it for that kind of monotony. At least I saw some action and have stories that I will refuse to tell my kids till they have kids.

EDIT: Also didn't mean to be offensive. I understand the money thing, and staying out of combat. It's just... That sounds kinda boring no offense. What branch? If you want the monies and benefits, the Air Force is where it's at. That wasn't my concern, aside from the extra 60k to finish up my degree's.
