Let’s Discover the Porn Industry Secrets

    5

Porn, it’s something every guy cherishes, well I do. It’s something every guy wants to be in, well I do. In fact most guys can easily recall few porn stars names easily. And it’s no surprise if you have a penis, you most probably have seen porn. But what’s the magic behind it, what are it’s deep hidden secrets. In this special article I have compiled information from verified sources (not really). They’re taken from Reddit and other websites (obviously) but the content is really good. So, without further wait, let’s start listing things.

Also, a big effing thanks to Reddit Community.

EX Photographer/Videographer for Penthouse/Danni’s/Twisty’s/BangBros here.

  1. When you see high quality images of girls with cum on them, it is 99% of the time a pina colada mix, or Cetaphil hand soap.
  2. Please remember, these people are acting. Yes, they enjoy it, but for the most part when you cut a scene, it just stops, they catch their breath, ask and take direction from the director, and wait for action again.
  3. Bang buses are not real.
  4. The AVN awards (or any adult award show really) is rigged. Whatever production company/agency pays the most for their talent to win the award gets it. AVN can barely afford to put on the award show anymore, and the convention in Vegas every year is getting smaller. They have to fund it by all means possible.
  5. A lot of these women have kids, are married, or are in relationships. It takes a lot to date a porn star (I’ve dated a couple), but trust, and being open minded helps.
  6. To add to #5, just because they are porn stars doesn’t mean they will sleep with anyone and everyone. Keep in mind they do their best to prevent std’s, and are tested every 2 weeks. Their best means of defense against std’s is to only sleep with other tested actors/actresses, or their significant others.
  7. On Twitter: when a girl says “I need a dick”, or something of the like… they don’t. They are saying things like this to get a reaction from their fans, and give them the illusion that they have a chance.
  8. Those gigantic 15 inch dicks you see… FAKE. good god they are FAKE.
  9. Male actors in the industry… It’s odd to say, but quite a few of the straight actors get bored with women. I won’t say who, but a few of them started sleeping with transgenders and men just to mix up their sex lives. And now a few of those guys are now on the gay side of the industry.
  10. Working in the industry… you learn how to deal with OSHA. FUCK OSHA.
  11. Probably something I shouldn’t say, but MOST well known actresses are prostitutes. I know of a couple girls who have told me their “weekend rate” is $80,000 for 2 days of company and sex. One of them clears $1.5 million a year doing this.

My girlfriend is an ex-porn star. Big enough that if you walk into a sex shop anywhere in the US, you will find her DVD’s on display. She retired a few years ago, and told me a lot about the industry and a bunch of stories from back when she was in.

  1. Porn is fake. Very, very fake. This is obvious, but my girlfriend can’t enjoy or take professional porn seriously. The actors don’t much enjoy themselves, to them, it’s just a job. Between cuts, people have their make-up reapplied, talk with their agents, or with their wives/significant others on the phone. They are not into it. She told me several times she doesn’t understand how “civilians” (this is what she calls us non-porn people) can even take it seriously.
  2. As an extension of #1, my girlfriend can only enjoy the most amateur stuff. As in cellphone-quality amateur porn. She says she knows at least the people in that are real and actually into it. She also likes amateur gay porn. She says she finds it a turn-on when guys are really into it, and evidently gay porn has that feature. I cannot vouch for this.
  3. Drug use is widespread. Weed, cocaine and booze are the ones she told me about.
  4. As an addition to #3, I can safely say that the craziest party I’ve ever attended was a birthday of a girlfriend of hers (another major porn star). There was so much booze and emotional instability, I’m still recovering from it to this day.
  5. Porn stars are often very generous girls. They spend crazy amounts of money on their families and gifts to friends. As a result of this, many retire with little money to themselves.
  6. It’s EASY to get expensive shit for free for the girls. They all have Twitter and Facebook, and wealthy fans shower them with gifts. My girlfriend got free top-of-the-line Macbook Pros, Ipads, and other expensive electronics from fans, and all they had to do was send a care package.
  7. A care package consists of a couple of worn panties, a signed DVD and poster, maybe a mouse pad. Little things like that. Fans will pay $300-500 for a care package and rich ones send even more: see #6.
  8. If you are an average guy like me and your dream is to talk with a pornstar, it’s VERY easy to arrange. Like I said, they all have Twitter and Facebook, and at least one public email. All you have to do is make semi-intelligent small talk and ask for a care package, and if the girl likes your email, you can actually have a back-and-forth with them. They are people too, and they appreciate fans who are not insane. My girlfriend has several fans she emails with, just because they seem like cool guys with something interesting to say, and not blatantly try to be creeps. And they occasionally have money/gifts money to send. She reads me those emails for fun.
  9. Speaking of fans, there are MANY wealthy people who are crazy into porn. These people will take pornstars on cruises, and spend literally hundreds of thousands of Dollars on them yearly, as long as the girl agrees to spend some time with them in person — say, a weeklong cruise or trip every couple of months. Sex is optional. These guys just like being a sugardaddy. I know several physicians and one of the higher-up Google managers who spend ridiculous amounts on girls.
  10. Unfortunately, there are broke guys who are crazy into porn too. I’ve seen guys send my girlfriend checks for $200-300 they have to save up over weeks, just for a small care package. I can tell they are broke and they are piecing together the money. I feel sorry for them.
  11. As for prostitution, the $80,000 figure sounds insane to me (although I don’t doubt it). But for $2500-4000, you too can bang a pornstar for a couple of hours.

Former web developer/account manager/content director/god knows what else they wanted me to do that week for Pink Visual/TopBucks/GTS/Twistys/Gaytube/etc

  1. “Web masters” who run their own sites and are on an affiliate network with the big companies would prefer if you call them by their screen name. at a party in Vegas one year I literally had to call this fat sweaty mouth breather “Batman”.
  2. Porn is like pro wrestling. it ain’t real. sure there’s a lot of work involved but at the end of the day it’s not “real”. a lot of these people are professionals. Do they all love anal? not really but they’ll do it to get through a shoot. All those fantastic and interesting positions you see? most of the time it’s just so the camera guy can get a good shot in. It makes me laugh when I hear stories of guys trying “porn stuff” with their girlfriend. that’s like getting into a fight with a guy and asking him if you can do the stone cold stunner on him. you look silly, stop.
  3. Please be careful sticking anything up your ass. I’ve seen things go horribly wrong in that area. Prolapses, things being up there that shouldn’t be up there and breaking, etc. just be careful.
  4. It’s a cut throat industry. Folks who work in the industry participate on industry only forums and it’s like stepping back into high school reading some of those threads. Loyalty is extremely rare in the industry and they will be quick to stab you in the back if they feel they can get away with it. ripping you off for money? yup all the time. People scamming affiliate networks for higher payouts on revshares etc? yup all the time. One guy in the biz could be a saint one day and the lowest of the low the next only cause he got caught.
  5. It’s a very secretive business. Why? because of the loyalty issue. Porn companies will never disclose exactly how much they make on their sites or how well overall they’re doing. If they feel their employees are talking too much they will fire them (I got fired a few years ago because of an AMA I did on reddit about the porn industry)
  6. People actually will complain about the quality of the porn they view. They will send emails on a daily basis complaining. The biggest complainers about their porn? homosexual men. And i’m not talking about paying customers, i’m saying homosexual men who are viewing a free product will complain. Straight people? not such much…unless their paying for it THEN they will complain more so than gay men. People are really weird about their porn. incredibly specific.
  7. People who signed up the most to pay for gay porn? Straight men mainly from the southern US. People who complained about “false charges” to their credit cards? Straight men mainly from the southern US. who do I know this? because every email would clearly state how they were married and how “straight” they were.
  8. No fluffers don’t exist anymore. they have viagara now.

Khan Tusion, an Asshole:

Khan Tusion is the biggest asshole in the universe. You guys may know him as the guy who created Meatholes and other Rough Sex series. I am a big fan of very rough sex, so long as the performers are comfortable and boundaries are respected. Khan completely disregards the females. He disguises his voice behind his camera.

Just some of the things he has done:

  • Regan Starr was in one of his movies released by Anabolic Video. In this scene, she was choked, pinched, slapped, punched repeatedly with fists, thrown over a man’s shoulder, in addition to being continuously insulted and verbally abused. It got so bad that she was in tears, hysterical and begging them to stop shooting. They would not stop shooting. They kept shooting the scene all through her pleas to stop. At one point, they finally stopped shooting and paid her a $300 kill fee to shut up and not prosecute them. After she publicized the incident, she was boycotted by the porn industry. Link
  • In an interview on Danny Wylde’s blog, Kimberly Kane states that “I had a situation where I met Khan Tusion, the guy from Meat Holes [a controversial line of porn films]. I was twenty. And he tried to strangle me. This was not even on camera. This was like him strangling me in a bathroom somewhere. And it was terrible. And I thought, “Oh my god, I’m gonna be murdered, this sucks. Everyone was right. Porn’s so evil.” But he’s like the most evil person to ever come into porn. He is like that nightmare that every mother and father who’s child is in porn is like, “That’s who they’re working with every day. It’s Khan Tusion.”
  • One of my great friends, Ashley Blue (Oriana Small), wrote a book entitled Gilvert and it chronicles the time she met Khan. You can either watch her read it here but it is kinda NSFW because you can see the scene play in the back, but it gives an idea of what she went through. Here’s an excerpt if you prefer that. She now refuses to speak about her experiences with him for it’s very triggering for her.

The one thing you need to realize about the porn industry is that it’s very scary. You only have so much control, especially if you have an agency who helps you. You can only to so much before you can’t do anything else. Women already have lists of men she refuses to work with. She can be told that a scene will be ____ but when she gets there, she does something totally different. Once you walk onto that set, all eyes are on you and it can sometimes be hard to say “no”. A lot of these girls need the money and end up getting into things they don’t want to do, especially if they are new to the industry. I’ve seen many friends drop out of the industry after experiencing everything from health risks to abuse. It’s not as easy as it seems and people like Khan just make the porn industry even worse.

Hot 18 Year old!

She’s actually 29 not 18.

Goody Bag:

I know a guy who works as a driver in the Northern California gay porn industry. He’s always telling stories about what he’s seen on the “inside.” According to him, there’s usually a “goody bag” at the set to help the male stars keep it up and last longer. Viagra, cialis, numbing creams, cocaine, and some kind of penis injections.

HIV:

I seem to a remember a guy contracting HIV while shooting in Brazil, a tranny/boy scene I think. Anyway he came back to America and did a porno and gave 3 girls HIV. One of them was a first timer… doing anal. That’s why now they are very heavy with HIV testing.

You would also be surprised with how many actually enjoy it.

Don’t think this is a secret but there are a lot of slimeballs out there. Bring girls in saying they will do one thing then when they arrive change the whole script then threaten/blackmail them if they resist. They also abuse and refuse to let the girls quit mid-shoot. If you’ve ever seen Max Hardcore films you’d know what i’m talking about.

What does OSHA do?

Health and Safety codes. They come in checking for condoms on set (there must always be condoms available to the actors/actresses), making sure the crew is properly dressed to shoot (for example, when we shoot squirt videos, we have to wear ponchos, goggles, masks, and gloves), making sure fire lanes are clear, and that the building is up to code and a safe environment to shoot production in.

Ex Adult Site Content Manager -

When you sign up for a subscription, you don’t usually get all of the content at once, we add new galleries each couple of weeks to keep you interested and your accounts active.

Sometimes we release fake logins to the public just to see what sites are pirating so that we can later block all traffic from that IP. Sometimes we even let you watch a few videos and then require you to create an account to see more.

Truth about Hot Girls:

A lot of the actresses look nothing like you think they do. Its all make-up and Photoshop. I know this because I used to be the guy touching up a lot of the photos. A lot of the girls look very different without makeup, and some of them are actually so ugly you wouldn’t touch them with a 10-foot pole. A few, however, look better without makeup IMO.

How did you get the job?

Through Craigslist. I applied for a job at a media company and didn’t find out it was porn until the actual interview.

A word of caution!

I didn’t work in the industry long, but surprise surprise, there’s some sketchy people there. I just worked as a driver, taking girls to auditions and to shoots. One company bounced a check to me. I got yelled at for bringing a girl to an audition suggested by another “trusted” company. Many of the girls were 18-20, and obviously being taken advantage of in that they probably weren’t getting paid well, and coerced into doing more than they bargained for. One girl I had to leave at a motel because she started copping an attitude, and wouldn’t cooperate or go on any of the scheduled auditions, so she may have just been using the talent agency to get a free flight to LA (in which case, good for her).

TL;DR - lots of sleazy people, lots of backstabbing, lots of egos, girls don’t look nearly as good in person

Women Squirting?

A lot of times when women squirt, it’s not actually their bodily fluids, but liquid that has been injected and is forced out (Cytheria is a good example of this, and I believe there is a video somewhere of someone pouring liquid into her). That being said, squirting is real. Trust me.

Dehydration from Squirting?

Dehydration is common with heavy squirters. I dated one that would have an orgasm every 3-5 minutes. The amount of liquid and force was directly proportional to the intensity of the orgasm. We kept a giant glass of water next to the bed, which would get filled up multiple times. She could have 20-30 orgasms during an hour or so of having sex. When we were done, her whole body would be shaking for a while and she wasn’t really able to walk.

It was very hot, but also educational, in a weird kind of way.

Pubic Hair?

I had a lovely dinner with a friend of a friend who works in porn in Australia and the US. The one story that stuck with me was that, when she was doing simple naked, non-intercourse photo shoots for websites, girls with pubic hair were getting paid 50% more than girls without ($900 instead of $600). Girls with pubes were so rare that they were in demand with punters and consequently attracted a premium.

Naturally, once all the girls without pubes found that out, they stopped epilating. The trouble was that most of them had been attacking their pubic hair for that long that they found it wouldn’t grow back properly. It was too sparse, or had bald patches.

So they would use all sorts of techniques to ‘enhance’ their existing pubes, from spirit gum and their own hair to colouring over the bald patches with non-toxic markers and eyeliner. With no sex involved to dislodge their handiwork, as long as the pubes looked convincing, they picked up the fatter paycheque. Maybe it’s just me but the idea of porn models obsessing over their vagoos the way that middle aged men obsess over their bald spots was really fucking amusing.

A real porn star talks:

It’s all acting. We enjoy it, but it’s planned, spoken out, agreed and then acted on. Nothing happens without explicit consent from all partied. There are no surprises during filming. Thats not to say it isn’t intense. During BDSM filming I really am scared, or blindfolded or whatever, but all actions only. Body are consented to before hand, usually in writing, and there is always a safety word.

A hot shower, some food and a warm dressing gown are awaiting for us after filming. We’re not just left there!

Sometimes ewe need a break during filming. Maybes f we minutes to wipe up the tears, catch our breathe and re compose. The film is edited together to make it look like its that long. At least sometimes. Some performers really can go for that long gin one shot!

Don’t wear socks or underwear on my way to the set because it leaves marks on my skin.

If I’m filming BDSM then taking aspirin before hand thins the blood and makes me bruise a little more easier for visually effect.

Most are prostitutes or webcam models – myself included.

Don’t date I tithings the industry. Find someone who works somewhere else! My partners has nothing to do with the industry. He’s great and supportive and I love him, but I need to take a step back sometimes.

most that I know are careless with their money which I don’t understand. Ill ever earn so much money for so littles work – it pays to invest, literally!

There are lots more likes make up tricks and things like that but I need to think on it. Or people can ask.

I am attractive will I make it?

Good looks in men don’t matter at all in “normal” porn.

Attractiveness is only important for an actor in gay porn.

Reality Check:

The secret is not to think that is how people usually have sex. If you are young and you think that every girl you will bang walks around with perfect tits and a neatly trimmed whisker biscuit you are mistaken my friend.

Oh and don’t feel inadequate when you see a porn star whip out his howitzer, it’s not that you are below average (unless you are); his job is to a have a big dick.

Herpes?

I worked as a graphic/web designer for a pretty popular porn company. I remember a lot of talk about herpes. Apparently, almost everyone in the porn industry has herpes and no one really cares.

Also, the ‘actors’ don’t get paid nearly as much as you’d think.

EDIT: Most actors don’t get paid as much as you’d think. However, some of them do get paid pretty well and are even on salary contracts. Their entire lives consist of looking good, staying healthy, and fucking for a living. What a life.

EDIT: Almost forgot, I used to come up with a lot of the crappy scripts you’ve probably seen. For instance, there is one where the actress is at school and gets hurt and the coach comes to her aid. He asks where it hurts and she keeps pointing to certain spots and then they start a hardcore fuck sesh. That was me!

Payout Statistics:

In San Francisco, there’s a huge conglomerate of porn websites run by kink.com. Here’s some of the pay rates:

  • Female Models make $500 – $800 as a top or bottom as a participant in a girl/girl shoot.
  • Female Models make $600 – $1300 as a top or bottom in a boy/girl shoot
  • Female Models make $700 – $1100 as a bottom in a TS female/girl shoot.
  • Male models make $500 as a bottom in a boy/TS female shoot.
  • Male models make $500 as a bottom in a boy/girl shoot.
  • Male models make $800+ as a top or bottom in a boy/boy shoot.
  • Male models make $200 – $400 as a top in a boy/girl shoot.
  • TS Female models make $800 – $1200 as a top in a TS Female/boy shoot or a TS Female/girl shoot.

1) Kink pays below industry rate. LA girls who come up to shoot for Kink negotiate for more than what’s posted on their website; Kink’s pay rates that are posted on their website is for talent that doesn’t know any better.

2) A transvestite is a man who dresses in women’s clothing for kicks. TS means transsexual — aka, “chick with a dick,” or shemale. These are very, very, VERY different things from one another.

3) For Kink.com, top / bottom does absolutely mean dom and sub.

Erotic Writing:

Video porn, I cannot comment on, but erotica writing is quite possibly the least sexy occupation. When you’re thinking about ways to make sex seem fresh and interesting for hours a day, you occasionally find yourself having to make the effort not to script your actual lovemaking — plus, it completely warps your mindset about what can be considered normal and acceptable sexual topics for public discussion. The number of times I’ve tried something with my boyfriend in order to write about it, only to find that we’ve both been reduced to exclaiming, ‘Well, that’s fucking ridiculous’ is incredible.

It’s fun as hell, though.

A Porn Store Manager speaks up:

I was the manager of a porn store for six years and the big secret about porn that nobody knows. You know that extra special super secret stash of porn we keep hidden behind the counter that’s full of pedophilia, chicks fucking barn animals and snuff films?

WE HAD NONE.

Zero, zip, nada, nothing, bupkiss. And yet scores of people were convinced it was there. The conversations I had with people to convince them it was not really there was just MADDENING. Honestly they all thought I was just brushing them off like they were undercover cops or couldn’t pay enough money. One guy spread out a wad of hundred dollar bills and waved it under my nose like a Japanese fan.

You would think maybe this reputation was started by other stores trading in this but I knew several other managers personally (as we all collected our films from the same distributor) and they didn’t have it either. There’s good reasons for this. One, porn at the time (the 90′s) was making good money, the risk of selling illegal porn was insanely high. Two, the people who buy it are a remarkably cheap bunch of fuckers. You’ll be spending your time haggling over a five dollar purchases that can land you in jail for years. Who the fuck wants that bullshit?

Separate topic. I thought the trade magazines were filled with remarkably harsh rumors and really biting commentary. I guess it was the only thing they could do to keep the columns interesting. I mean, who the hell ever thinks of reading the columns of a porn trade magazine but I did out of sheer boredom and I found them to be somewhat vitriolic at best. Very unpleasant people in the industry. It was like reading Fox News columnists bash on liberals.

My GawD, WHY?? Why would destroy a mans dreams like that?
