When I was finished evaporating all the hydrochloric acid and water mix I was left with a kind of icey snow on the Pyrex dish not any Crystal's. This looked like Crystal's but when scraped turned into a powder ice. I was just wondering if this is what the final water titrate product is supposed to be like?

As a longstanding &T user, I've witnessed the 'glory days' of the forums. A repository of informative textfiles, many on 'taboo' subjects. I saw how it died a slow death by the jenkem-fueled idiocracy of the 4chan refugees, not unlike an elephant being dragged down by a pack of hyenas. I also was there for the spinoffs that came about . Totse2, Zoklet, ParadoxSector, etc, etc. Zoklet in particular was haunted with frequent demands from federal agencies.

Totse not only had strong founding principles, it had a userbase of people with diverse talents. You could ask car questions and get an automotive expert. You could ask about firearms and get the input of a gunsmith. Same story was true across any of the forums. BLTC, BB, etc. The only thing that would get you banned is shitposting.

The climate of the internet has changed. People are flagged just for searching the wrong things. Freedom of speech is being lost.
People succumb to complacency and sacrifice liberty for convenience. In order to preserve a venue of candid discussion, there needs to be relative anonymity. I'm proposing a dark web reincarnation of &T. Something to attract an astute and diverse userbase. A place to preserve and share knowledge.

I'm posting this idea to this site because it's possibly the last semblance of &T. The spirit is intact. It just needs to be nurtured and brought back to it's former splendor. In order to succeed, this project would require a committed staff of developers, moderators, and of course users.

Recent Down Time & Migration

Just a head up, my sql usage is a bit high for some reason and I am experiencing some down time because of it, it doesn't help that the hosting tech's are lazy and haven't responded to my requests. This is a production environment, so I have to careful.

However, I might suspend totseans during these days on case by case basis to isolate the problem, does it mean I am shutting it down?

On the bright side, a new server has been provision, it will have plenty of RAM (32GB) and cores (12) to handle things. I will alert you when that is ready, it will be using Nginx + apache and bunch of nifty tweaks, since it's a new server, I will move totseans there and use this as a platform to tweak the fuck out of it. MUHAHAHA

Yes, I am getting my ass out of my chair and actually going to try and fix few things.

A) For starters our custom theme has been disabled since it's giving weird ass errors.

Secondly some plugins are not working, like the button bar, so I need to find some replacements.

C) I will however do some CSS magic and just customize the current theme so it just works all the time. I like it, it's simpler.

D) More fixes planned in the coming days /

Now you mind be wondering about the whole STASH thing, well to be perfectly honest having variety of Categories was making my job difficult since I was confined to writing stuff related to them. But having one generic category allows me to be creative in a way. The stash idea is simple. From time to time I collect some goodies mostly in the form of pictures, videos and other good stuff. I am going to write about them and basically share them with you. This also includes guides and other nifty things I come across. To make things super simple for you, I have also included a newsletter service which will give you updates and tons of awesome stuff which communities tend to keep secret. This includes game codes (first come, first serve basis), passes and invites and yes awesome adult stuff. But let’s address the elephant in the room, it’s 2015 and we’re not moving forward? Well, we are still here so that’s a good sign, as to moving forward… well I have work and Uni to tend to, and others are busy with life as well. This is basically a hub for us. But we’re committed to making it work.

Just got tired of taking a back seat. Time to reel the community in.

Before I begin, I did setup an archive of totse here: http://totse.totseans.com/ due to numerous requests about bringing Totse Archive and elements back. You're welcome to browse and use it, I hope to update it and make it usable or create something like that.

Now for the main point, I have seen at least three forums setup in the name of Totse/Zoklet in a short span of time. And I am starting to see the community pretty much going extinct, soon it would be just pretty much totseans sitting around waving the flag and basically Totse Archive. The reason is quite simple, I work online, and I use my domain excessively for things apart from Totseans. And I don't mind hosting or building stuff. So, my motivations for keeping things alive far exceed others. That's just me. I ain't going anywhere tbh.

However, times are changing as someone heavily into Reddit/Twitter etc I can assure you, the chances of a forum picking up in this TOTSE niche is next to nothing. It's basically just something to keep and move about. Of hundreds I recruited and interviewed, none of them knew or cared about whatever ideals we have. Everything is just there. Nothing is really hidden, average joe doesn't give a flying fuck.

Now is the time to basically unite, we all tested things, and honestly if your heart is into it, then go ahead work on it but think about it. How long can we fragment things? How many users can you give away until you're the only one left. I know that feeling, I have been there but unlike others I can recover. I am constantly building friends, connecting and climbing ladders. But it's clear I still love Zoklet/Totse community and so I am willing to extend a helping hand.

Mostly a last ditch effort to unite communities.

I don't have a concrete plan yet, but it basically involves starting a project in which whatever communities exist start contributing or building something and then coming to a resolution to unite under whatever banner makes sense.

United we do stand a chance, a small yet viable chance. Fragmented we're screwed.

Your thoughts, again I am not here to steal anything, apart from other offshoots I do have some faith in this one. Hence I came here.

Possibly a way to expand the community?

Here is my idea, we host game servers for really popular games like Team fortress 2 and Garry's Mod. Then we make a clan, which of course most mindless monkeys will join. Then the join the fourms. Its really easy to get around 20 clan members per week or so, just make it flashy with a totse taste, and it is even possible to make tiny money off advertisments shown upon joining in game. Whuddya think? I've done this before with success before having to cancel it due to lack of funds (20 dollars lol I'm a cheapo).

We're using Vanilla and although this look a bit different, I am assure you it's for the better. For far I see many speed improvements, it loads faster, it makes sense more and I do love the structure, sure we have things missing atm and have tons of issues to resolve but I am looking forward to working on totseans for 2-3 months in the summer break. Currently we have some issues such as Avatars don't work, BBcode are invalid and URL don't work. For URL I have asked help here: http://vanillaforums.org/discussion/27317/migrated-from-vbulletin-4-2-2-to-vanilla-2-1-issues-with-mod-rewrite-url?new=1 For Avatars, well just upload new ones, or I will have to manually rename the avatar file names. It's basically like this: avatar342_.gif And the name should be navatar341_.gif I am quite sure this can be done using simple batch command but I can't think of it atm, if someone knows tell me. Regarding Img embed and other features, just be patient, my top priority is getting wordpress integrated. Also, Twitter/Facebook/Google sign is now enabled :D So that's a good start, the permissions are a bit off but I will clean them up. Overall, it's looking good. WELCOME EVERYONE!

Just a heads up, I am setting up Totse clone/funnel just for the sake of having it. It will pretty much be the same but it will have few changes.

For starters it will have Text files, and it will contain the good stuff.

Regarding forums, since we don't really have any regular members it's not really worth the trouble, however if someone wants to like jump in, I can SMF or something and set up stuff and we can go from there. Totseans.com however will remain the central hub.

I never exactly a forum person, usually stay and lurk for a while and then I forgot to post for more.
It's been a really long time since I post here and I've seen there's a lot of changed, zoklet down, there's a new migration to sanctuary, etc

This site also changed a lot, the design has changed, the main site has changed, even the forum engine has changed. I'm just wondering about how do you guys do. And what's with the new engine anyway is it any good? I can see a lot of my old threads are being clumped down in spurious generality.
