Portable Apps are Awesome

Portable apps are awesome. Just load them onto your USB flash drive and you can have all your favorite programs anywhere you go. Here's a screenshot of my portable apps directory on my USB stick...

50.png

Ccleaner - Awesome junk files remover, supports secure deleting methods.

Firefox - We all know what Firefox is.

Notepad ++ - For web design and coding on the go.

VLC - Awesome media player which supports pretty much every format under the sun.

Defraggler - Because you never know when you want to Defrag a drive.

Chrome - Another web browser, great speed.

Pidgin - IM client, very lightweight and supports OTR messaging.

Winrar - Because it's amazing how few public places support RAR extraction

Eraser - For secure file deletion when I'm out and about.

Nmap - This was an accidental installation to my USB stick, so ignore it!

uTorrent - Because downloading is awesome!

All in all, portable apps are great - discuss.

My memory stick is actually read as PortableApps.com, which says alot for what is on it :D

Anyways, I do not use them now as much as I used to. I have uTorrent, Open Office, FFP, Chrome, Notepad++, 7zip, Skype, uTorrent, WWGP, VLC and tons more, including a bunch of addictive games.

That's quite a lot of applications man, what made you stop using them? I still haven't actually tried out any of the portable games as I figured they'd just waste space on there, but I might give them a shot. Recommend any?

Use XAMPP for programming. I got alot of use from it on a few projects. Apache, PHP etc are all inside one app so its quite convenient.

I no longer use any because the only PC I work on these days is my own, where I have the programs in their entirety installed.
