Making each post at least a paragraph long....

Who's still doing this? I remember there was a thread on this before (or a reply of some sort, I forgot) and a few people including myself and Dfg said we were going to make the effort to post a full paragraph when making posts, instead of a few words. In some cases, it's only possible to make a short reply but I'm still trying to get things as long as possible. I figure it just makes the thread more readable, in case anyone's trying to read through it.

So, who else is still doing this? Or am I on my own here? :D

I prefer posts that are no longer than one sentence because they are kept short and to the point which makes it much easier to read than having to go through an entire paragraph as I just find myself skimming for interesting words or keywords to get a general idea because in a forum like this reading long-winded passages is the last thing I want to have to do, especially when there is a high volume of new posts, it is quite time consuming to have to go through a bunch of wordy posts which is also quite annoying when they are wordy posts that don't actually make sense or I have no interest in reading which makes them a huge waste of time, so I would just like to remind everybody to keep their posts short and no longer than one sentence, and if everybody would do that, I would be very happy.

To be honest, I agree to some extent. It depends on what you're talking about. After all, we're a discussion forum so obviously we need some discussion which involves some longer posts. I think there is more likely to be some longer posts in the more specialist areas, rather than in HB or SG. Good call.

^ Same here, I can barely come up with a sentence. When I do start writing paragraphs it just sounds like I'm rambling. I wish I could write more, but it just seems like what I'm writing is boring to the reader or just sounds stupid.

I am mostly writing stuff while posting on Totse, at the moment I am working on an article related to some Anime and I have to review four episodes bit by bit. But someone has to do it. I post on totse to take a break and I really don't mind making long posts but I am sure no one will read it since this is the Internet and users attention span is that of a fucking mouse high on drugs. So, yeah, I am sure not many can handle the wall of texts Spec is famous for and I don't want to go in that direction. Plus, posting JB works.

How about this for an idea? If one-liner replies is all your little mind can handle, stick with a chatroom and have at it there. Then someone that isn't so intimidated with those pesky/problematic *GASP* paragraphs won't have to encumber a website with your difficulties. Resign your global modship position already because CLEARLY this isn't your arena or realm. Or we can continue to have chatroom-lite nonsense as the "example" in your leadership(ELL OH FUCKIN ELL) position....and this website will further fall into the pit of obscurity, because of the blatant 2-faced hypocrisy your position and appointment creates.

"I want content, content, content folks......articles/guides that will draw people in!!!!!! Here ya go Mayberry, I know you hate words and reading...but you've earned your Global Moderator position. " ~~~~DFG

Glad to see you're unbanned, DaGuru.

As for paragraphs, well, if a statement can be adequately made in one sentence then fine. I suspect for the more specialist forums that won't often be the case.

Problem is though......your posting history/behavior exposes your true sincerity within those words.:facepalm:

Be careful, give your tongue too much liberty and you might just find yourself being fed to Cthulhu.
