Hot water freezes faster than cold water.

  Well then attempt it. Put room temp water and boiling water into the freezer. I would, but there is no room in my freezer.

  Its because the water loses energy due to evaporation (plus the cold of the freezer) faster than the freezer can lower the temperature of the room temperature water.
