Is the site really slow for anyone else?

Pages open at dial-up speeds right now. Other sites load fine, so I don't think it's a problem with my internet.

Yeah bro, it's been terribly slow all day for me. I was going to make a thread about it, but decided not to bother :D

This has also had a big impact on the rate of new posts too :(

Yeah, its been quite slow for me as well, but I open everything in a new tab so while one thing loads, I'm reading another.

I wish we knew what was causing the slow-down. I'm guessing its down to the server? Or has Hellish fiddled with WordPress again? xD

Yeah I only get it on /bbs/*
It was at dial-up speeds and now it's at we-just-invented-DSL speeds.
It's loading in under 10 seconds but barely, which is "supposed" to be acceptable but I don't really consider it that way anymore with any decent pipe from the site's end and a broadband connection not under bad load from the client.

I guess that would explain the odd behavior I noticed. It doesn't seem to have any problem actually reaching the site, it's just that it sits there making a bunch of requests and taking forever to get all of them and start rendering.

It's a ga.js script that's causing the problem. The site loads the file from Google btw.

    Here's how to fix it.

    Install noscript addon.
Goto the options for that addon and select allow scripts globally.
    Goto a thread in totse.info
Right click and goto noscript submenu.
    Mark totse.info untrusted.
Bitch at hellish to fix the problem.

Thanks to you all for checking:thumbsup:
I turned my JS off a few weeks back to rectify the load issues
I thought it was just me because no one else said they had problems
apparently that reasoning was wrong. That's why I didn't think to mention it.
Now I know I'm not insane.....That's probably not true either, come to think of it.

Yah! I realize it's been fine for everyone else. Which is a :)
But for me it sucked over the last few weeks. Which is a :(
I found disabling JS fixed my issue.................. Which is a :)
But it's merely masking an issue not fixing it... Which is a :(

As soon as I get back to my puter today. I'll need to investigate this more. smi8.gif
