    Having different passwords on different websites is a good security measure - one which should be practiced as much as possible.

    Someone most people here don't know already. I lurked here before, never actually signed up. Hung around various fringe forums, and eventually ended up here the other day.

    My password is different also. If anyone were to guess it, they'd get it quick as fuck though.

    i usually have one password for everything, but each one has an extra string of characters at the end to separate them

    for example, a gmail account would have a password like
    passwordgm

    Most databases these days are automatically encrypted, or so I thought which is why almost every site I go to sends me a random password and has to reset it if I forget because they can't just check the syslog to find what it was.
