Chicago Mayor Deflects Blame for Skyrocketing Crime as Gang Shootout In Broad Daylight Injures 1-Month-Old Baby

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot is deflecting any responsibility for the skyrocketing crime in the city. She claims that 99% of criticism of her job in Chicago is due to racism and sexism. During a recent interview with WTTW, Lightfoot said, “Women and people of color are always held to a different standard. I’ve known that my whole life.” “About 99%” of the criticism Lightfoot gets as mayor is motivated by racism and sexism, Lightfoot told WTTW News. Lightfoot said her critics are motivated to speak out because they “don’t like to see a woman assume power.”

The truth is the mayor has lost control of the city with lax enforcement and her complete denial of the crime surge. Innocent children are being shot amidst the crossfire from violent thugs. It’s time for a reality check in Chicago.

According to the Chicago Police Department’s crime statistics for the week ending June 27, nearly 1,500 people have been shot so far in Chicago in 2021. This is a 12% increase compared to 2020 and a 59% increase compared to 2019.

A one-month-old baby and at least 6 others were struck during a gang shootout in Chicago. Liberal policies continue to lead to a surge in gang violence in liberal-controlled cities around the country. Lori Lightfoot has completely failed Chicago…

Chicago is a war zone with innocent kids getting shot. ABC7Chicago reported another incident that happened just days ago:

A 9-year-old girl was critically wounded in a shooting that also left a man hurt near the border of the Grand Crossing and Chatham neighborhoods on the South Side Thursday.

Chicago police said the girl was riding in the backseat of her mother’s car as they were driving near East 79th and Maryland around 2:45 p.m. when the shooting happened. Police said they were not the intended targets.

ABC7Chicago also reports that just last night that three people were also caught in the crossfire:

Three people were shot, two critically, when they were caught in the crossfire between two cars in East Garfield Park on the West Side Thursday night.

The two men and a woman were in a car about 10 p.m. going north on California Avenue and were attempting to turn onto Van Buren Street when they drove between two cars shooting at each other, Chicago police said.

This is all happening daily while our media completely ignores it. It’s a crisis that needs to be dealt with.
