I use these tools of the trade on a daily basis.
you need 1-inductive amplifier and older model which has ears or tabs to allow the connecting of a buttset.
1- voice activated tape recorder
1- buttset or test set.
connect the test set to the inductive amp.
set the testset to mon. (monitor)
tape the mic of the tape recorder to the reciever of the test set.
press record on vox to the recorder.
when any noise ie: ringing voltage, dial tone or voice
comes down the line the inductive amp picks this up and transmitts it to the test set which in turn passes this signal to the tape recorder then is recorded.
you only have to set the inductive amp near a wire, inside or outside of the tape. no connection is required :0)
this absolutly works, i used it to cement a divorce.
