Materials you need:

  1. A magnet (preferably an industrial strength one)
  2. An observant nature
  3. Some cojones

Actually you don't need the last nearly as much as the others. First thing you need to do is get a layout of the story you would like to rip-off. Look for any cameras. Every mirrored or black dome is most likely one, so be careful. Find a place in the store where no camera can see you. There are always a few.

Once you get the layout of the store, and find a private spot, it's easy. First pick up the CD or computer game you would like to take. It is a good idea to pick up two, because if somebody sees you walk into your corner, and then come out empty handed, they will be suspicious.

When you first pick up the cd, discreetly pass your magnet over the back of it. When you feel a pull, you've found the anti-theft tag. If you are lucky, the item will not have a tag, it will make things a little easier. Take the CD to your corner and conceal it in your pants, shirt, etc. Now place your magnet where the tag is if there is one. The tags are made out of magnetic material. They are built to vibrate, and emit emit a low frequency sound. By holding the magnet there, it stops the vibrations. You can even just pass your magnet over the tag once, as it should scramble its pattern, but it is more likely to fail that way. Now you can simply walk out of the store. Usually I buy something beforehand, so you look even less suspicious.

Congratulations, you just saved 15-20 dollars.
