Benzodiazepines and Information About Them

Introduction
Benzodiazepines (BZs), more commonly called benzos, are central nerves system depressants. They are usually prescribed for anxiety and sleep disorders. Their effects vary from one to another, but generally include the following: euphoria, drunk-like feelings, tranquility or hypnosis (sleep), short-term memory impairment, and confusion to delirium. Symptoms can also include agitation, psychosis, and paranoia. They are habit forming and addictive drugs with bad withdrawals.
Their withdrawals can include anxiety and insomnia from normal routine use and some times even psychosis (a mental condition) and seizures from prolonged use. When this is used as a medicine, the withdrawals can possibly worsen the pre-existing condition for which they were prescribed.
Types of Benzos
Here and several of the more common types of benzodiazepines with the medicinal and average recreational doses. Also with a little other information about them.
Alprazolam (also known as Xanax, or bars): The pills come in .25mg, .5mg, 1mg, and 2mg doses. The colors are white, orangish-pink, and blue. The .25mg and 2mg are white, the .5mg orangish-pink, the 1mg blue, and the 2mg also white. Recreational does usually start with at least 2mgs to 8mgs; sometimes even higher. Withdrawals from this can be very harsh if used for a protracted amount of time.
Clonazepam (or Klonopin): The pill are commonly found in .5mg, 1mg, or 2mg tablets. Medical doses tend to stay within that for anti-convulsant use. Recreational doses are commonly around 5 and 6mgs.
Diazepam (or Valium): This is prescribed to treat a number of things such as: anxiety, seizures, and muscle spasms. The pills come in blue-10 mg, yellow-5 mg, and white-2.5 mg. Medical doses are between 10-2.5mgs and recreational doses are 20mg to 40mgs, some times more.
Lorazepam (or Ativan): This is prescribed for anxiety, the effects are similar to Valium, but a much smaller does is needed. Those doses are usually around .5mg - 2mg dose units. Recreation doses are around 2-4mgs for first time, and are generally at the most 6-8mgs.
Flunitrazepam ( also known as Rophypnol or Mexican Valium): This is prescribed to be used for the treat of insomnia in other counties outside the U.S.. Sometimes this is used as a date-rape drug, and it's effects are nearly the same as intoxication. It comes in tablets with the doses of .5, 1 and 2 mgs.
