Scrach I'm referring to the IV route not PO, go crush up a 40mg sl tab and shoot it, I highly doubt you'll ever type anything again.

My refrence to Oxycontin OD has to do with the drug being crushed and injected (I.V.- popular street method) in a fashion similar to heroin. To back my other statements :

From www.drug-overdose.com

OxyContin

OxyContin is a central nervous system depressant. OxyContin's action appears to work through stimulating the opioid receptors found in the central nervous system that activate responses ranging from analgesia to respiratory depression to euphoria. People who take the drug repeatedly can develop a tolerance or resistance to the drug's effects. Thus, a cancer patient can take a dose of OxyContin on a regular basis that would be fatal in a person never exposed to OxyContin or another opioid. Most individuals who abuse OxyContin seek to gain the euphoric effects, mitigate pain, and avoid withdrawal symptoms associated with OxyContin or heroin abstinence.

OxyContin is designed so that the oxycodone is slowly released over time, allowing it to be used twice daily. You should never break, chew, or crush the OxyContin tablet since this causes a large amount of oxycodone to be released from the tablet all at once, potentially resulting in a dangerous or fatal OxyContin overdose.

And for ultram: Yes, my mistake it isn't a NSAID, but who whould want to take it to get high anyway. The LD-50% is so close to what it takes people to get high is it worth the risk?

from www.drug-overdose.com:

Ultram

Ultram is the brand name of the generic drug Tramadol (TRA-ma-doll). Ultram is an analgesic used to treat or prevent pain. Ultram is not a non steroidal anti inflammatory pain reliever. Ultram is not classified as a narcotic. Ultram binds to certain opiod pain receptors in the body by blocking the reuptake of the neuro chemicals norepinephrine and serotonin, it modifies the pain message which results in pain relief. Introduced in 1995, no control was recommended based on review of its uncontrolled use in 40 other countries. However, once released in the U.S., abuse became readily apparent. Ultram is addictive. Large doses can interfere with the ability to breathe, especially if taken with alcohol.

An Ultram overdose happens when you consume more Ultram than your body can safely handle. Ultram abusers are constantly flirting with the risk of an overdose, and the difference between the high they're seeking and serious injury or death is often quite small. An overdose of Ultram can be fatal. If you suspect an overdose, seek emergency medical treatment immediately.

READ CAREFULLY...

Ultram binds to CERTAIN opiod pain receptors in the body by BLOCKING the REUPTAKE of the NEURO CHEMICALS NOREPINEPHRINE and SEROTONIN, it modifies the pain message which results in pain relief. Therefore it works more like a SSRI than an opiate. Opiates bind to ALL opiate recepters, not just selective ones. Of course "Another John Doe" you wouldn't understand that anyway. And the personal attacks...come on grow the fuck up!!!what are you 12?????

Marijuana Overdose

The Drug Awareness Warning Network Annual Report, published by the US federal government contains a statistical compilation of all drug deaths which occur in the United States. According to this report, there has never been a death recorded from the use of marijuana by natural causes. Unlike opiates, barbiturates or amphetamines, there seems to be little risk from the use of large amounts of marijuana. When a person smokes too much they feel very tired and lie down. When people swallow large amounts of hashish, occasionally they get sick to their stomach.

Marijuana's effect on the user depends on the strength or potency of the THC it contains. THC potency has increased since the 1970s but has been about the same since the mid-1980s. The strength of the drug is measured by the average amount of THC in test samples confiscated by law enforcement agencies. THC is the chemical in marijuana which makes you feel "high" (which means experiencing a change in mood and seeing or feeling things differently). Certain parts of the plant contain higher levels of THC. The flowers or buds have more THC than the stems or leaves.

... and thousands die from the direct and indirect effects of alcohol every year.
