I have been a short time user of Carisoprodol, pronounced (car-i-so-pro-dol) which is the generic name for the popular muscle relaxant called "Soma".
I started out snagging a few a week from my roomate who is suffering from a severe back injury and kept moving up. I started out with two or three tabs at a time resulting in an intoxication equivalent to that of a heavy alcohol buzz.
As time progressed I began stealing more and more from my roomate in an attempt to see how high I could get. I personally have read reports of people being sent to the emergency room for doses of 1750mg at one time, 1750mg is the exact count of five pills. I found myself requiring a higher dosage each time to become equally intoxicated. With each use of four or more tablets I would feel the same amount of intoxication however pass out, and I really mean "PASS OUT" for an exponential amount of time.
The LD-50 (lethal dosage) of carisoprodol is 2340mg. At one time in my experimentation I took twelve tablets or 4200mg. This is ~1.75x the LD-50... how am I still alive... I don't know.
The affects of these 12 tablets consisted of the usual amount of intoxication and a deep sleep of about 20 hours. The reason that I say about is because of the additional effect of the drug which is acute memory loss. I can not be for sure when or even where I passed out. There are several reasons that I have submitted this boring and seemingly useless article.
1. Unless you plan on sleeping for a long period of time dont waste your soma take your usual recreational amount and have fun.
2. As with alcohol your negotiation skills are severly dulled by this drug...be very carful with large doses.
3. I couldn't bare not discussing the striking resemblence of the pill used on the screen print of Marilyn Manson's "Mechanical Animals" and the word "COMA" inscribed on it which bears a striking resemblence to the brand name "SOMA". Additionaly the coma like effects of the drug in high dosages.
I hope some of this makes sense cuz im still a little high right now...
