Chapter Nine

"You're doing just fine," I answered, and I meant it! "Look, I want to do a
little more with you. There's a couple of reasons for that - first of all
because you don't have a portfolio, so I have to work out for myself if you've
got the interaction with the camera that I'm looking for. And because you're new
to this, I need to convince myself that you can follow direction, that you can
perform, and that you've got the attributes I'm looking for. Okay?"
She nodded.
"Good. Now I've got some clothes here," I said, indicating the rack. "I want
you to pick out something that you think you can feel seductive in. Not horny,
just seductive.
"And I'll give you a hint - you were incredibly seductive a moment ago in that
dress you're wearing now, so don't feel you have to go for the skimpiest thing
on the rack. I'l leave you to it." Before I left I swung open the door to the
change room. "You can change in here. Take your time, try on as many things as
you like. I have to get some more film."
I left her flicking through the items on the rack and walked out a second door
that led to a small darkroom. At the other end of the darkroom was another door,
and I went through there to another room.
In here I had rows of video recorders and a few cameras, all hooked up to rooms
throughout the building. From here I could watch just about anyone anywhere and
record them.
One wall of the room was dominated by a large black curtain. In front of it were
two cameras sitting on tripods. I switched off the light and went to the
curtain. A long sash on one side of it drew the curtain aside to reveal a full
length window, several feet across. Through the window I could see the change
room and my studio/office beyond it. I was looking through a one-way mirror. On
the other side, from within the change room, it was completely reflective - I
knew that I could see without being seen.
I set up one of the cameras to a wide shot of the change rooms and set it
recording. I set myself up on the other camera and rolled it too.
Through the window/mirror, I could see Cathy still going through the rack of
clothes. She had one or two items already draped over an arm, but she was still
looking.
Okay, why was I doing this? I knew that if I wanted to I could stay in the
studio and watch her while she changed, spitting out some excuse like, "I'm
going to see you naked anyway, so don't get embarassed now,".
There are two reasons, really. While that would have been a buzz - and I may yet
do that anyway - I get more of a buzz out of watching a woman if they didn't
know I'm looking, if they think they're alone. Now think about the fact that
Cathy _thinks_ she's alone. She won't be inhibited, she won't feel
self-concious. That will make her feel more at ease, and she'll more likely do
things that she wouldn't do if she knew I was behind her watching.
The sort of things I wanted to see...
It all boils down to the classic definition of voyeurism. I'll look anytime, but
it's more fun if they don't know I'm looking.
