MARCH 12, 2004: Everyone is a little curious to know just how far their governments have gone in censoring information to them.

Everyone knows that 'propaganda' was used during wartime to confuse or sway people's thinking away from well-traveled beliefs and over into a different direction so they would both 'act' and 'react' to any news stimuli being offered them. Incentives were always offered to, which was the 'carrot' over the 'stick'.

What about 'no information'? Ah! That's called . . . Wait a minute? "No information"?

We've all heard of 'censorship'. Censoring is an information device used by governments on its citizenry, but what is "no information"? Ah! That's called a 'news blackout', right? Well 'yes' and 'no'.

A 'news blackout' occurs when the government doesn't want people to learn about information from any other source when the government has 'lost control over their own communication feed'. But, that's only myth, right?

When it comes to internet-based website information everybody knows that what they read may either be taken with a grain of salt or, fully believed. But, depending on whose 'name', 'news syndicate' or, 'government agency' is attached to what its citizens read that option has always remained 'free' and 'open', right? Wrong!

Hard tax dollars at work now provide - or in this case 'does not provide' - you with being allowed to access 'internet information', but 'with' it having been censored by the government through its prying eyes. Why that's impossible! No, 'not' "impossible"!

Here's an interesting 'non-fiction' story about a 'fictionally named character' posing as an ex-CIA attaché who ran five (5) 'information only' free websites. He never earned a dime from any of them. Why? They were his 'hobbies' and he really didn't care if he earned a dime on them or not.

His website hobby began in December of 1998 and they all ran until February 2004 when one day only one (1) of his websites was forcibly dismantled and without any notice.

Six (6) years of his online work and then 'poof'. Nothing! What happened?

This story is only about one (1) of his websites and how it relates specifically to internet information censorship being forced upon him and others in the name of U.S. National Security interests, which many have never even heard of ever occurring before until they read this.

The OFFSHORE INFORMANT (also known as) OI was an "Economic Financial Business Intelligence news website that began in August of 2002 but was removed from the internet on January 29, 2004 via its 'free website hosting service', i.e. TERRA-LYCOS. Why?

The primary reason for the removal of the Offshore Informant website was based on a telephone call placed by an agent of the U.S. Department of Justice on January 29, 2004 to the hosting service informing them that the OI website had "unlawfully invaded privacy pertaining to national security interests of the United States". The request was officially presented that the OI website be immediately dismantled and Terra-Lycos complied accordingly.

The secondary reason might have had something to do with a whole 'series of reports' OI had been publishing entitled, Global Economic Brinkmanship (GEB). The last GEB report, i.e. number 5, was published on January 14, 2004 only two (2) weeks before the OI website was totally dismantled, taken offline, and even removed from a favorite internet archive source too.

Within just a few minutes of that call to the website hosting service (Terra-Lycos) and 'after' the website had been removed from the internet by its hosting service, an OI website news target, i.e. DAVID EDMOND MARCHANT, who hosts an online financial business news website, i.e. KYC NEWS, INC. (Miami, Fliorida, USA) went on public record and stated 'he' had complained to Lycos about "illegal activity" and the "entire site" had been "dismantled".

Further, Mr. Marchant went on to request that the OI 'host' have a "ban" placed on him from posting messages at another financial business news website because in his opinion the OI host demonstrated "irresponsibility", which "should not be tolerated" based on an assumption that the OI website host was a "twice convicted felon".

What Mr. Marchant chose to avoid was that he could not positively 'verify' was whether the OI host was either using a "pen name" and 'background' of a man named Paul E. M. Collin or not. It was impossible because even Terra-Lycos could not verify this. Why? Because, the entire website of OI was established using 'aliases'! So, no matter how vociferously Marchant tried to convince others in the financial business industry of his views about OI and its host, the fact was that it was 'not' Paul E. M. Collin.

To top off that 'fact' was another fact. The host of OI never used an Internet Service Provider (ISP) registered to him or anyone affiliated with him whenever he posted anything anywhere on the internet, albeit David Marchant's website BBS or any others.

Here are some interesting questions to ponder now. "Was the real host of OI, Paul E. M. Collin, a 'twice convicted felon'?" Or, "Was the host of OI just using a 'pen name' and 'background' of a 'twice convicted felon'?"

The more important question that should be asked is, "Does a person's name and background have anything to do with the type of information being supplied on an internet website?"

Well, in lieu of 'who' contacted Terra-Lycos that resulted in the OI website having been dismantled it's clearly evident that the information must have contained information of some grave importance for authorities to act as they did in shutting it down within only six (6) hours of one (1) particular webpage report being added to it.

What 'was' that webpage that got OI shut down and what did it contain? Child pornography? No! Was their information about CIA agents worldwide posted on that one (1) new webpage back then? Well, secrets perhaps, but who really knows?

Once a 'well-placed' rumor is started it is difficult to stop without the costs involved to file a federal injunction and an accompanying lawsuit to reverse such an action as what occurred to the OI website and its host.

It makes sense that if the host of OI was using the 'free services' of a website server, they may not have had the financial ability to defend themselves, which apparently worked fluidly well in this case for not only Mr. Marchant but the U.S. government too.

Six (6) hours 'before' OI was taken 'offline' it had posted an educational security study on David Marchant of KYC NEWS, INC., which mentioned Kroll Associates, Inc. as being a responsible party for a breech in Marchant's database security that revealed names of what were called "Associates" whom may have only been 'business clientele' presumably connected in some way with Marchant and/or his business enterprises.
