The New Generation of Capitalists

In public schools we are often taught about how great our country is; the USA, or Australia in my case. And sure, it IS a great place to live.

But that said, some things we are taught would lead us to believe that we have the “best government system”, the “best culture” and so on. As a result, most students see other countries as inferior. This leads to remarks about “wogs, nazis, japs” etc. There’s a name for almost every race, nationality or members of a certain belief.

This leads to the deduction that the status quo is infallible, and that any country that doesn’t have a dead-centre democratic, capitalist, bi-cameral based government system is rubbish.

You see, for the young capitalist generation, between the proverbial sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll, there’s no time left to consider issues such as politics. Thankfully, we are told what to think so we don’t have to work it out ourselves. The current state of affairs is just fine, otherwise why would they tell us so?

Unfortunately, this does not lead to next generation solving the world’s political environmental problems; for although these issues may not directly affect us now, consider the state of the environment in 25 or 50 years time. The belief that the current path down which we travel is perfect will lead to future generations perpetuating such issues. If you can’t even think about what’s going on in the world, what do you do when you find yourself in charge of it?

In my current view, there is no “best” or “worst” culture or Government system. Sure, Fascism is a little harsh on the individual, but it (theoretically) makes the nation strong (and that’s all that matters, right?). On the other end, we’ve got the “evil commie bastards” who can’t understand the “genius” of our system, capitalism.

Even more unfortunate is the fact that the aforementioned non-thinkers will believe more or less anything they’re told if it fits in with their utopian-democratic-capitalist ideology. This, of course means the MEDIA. All terrorists are Arab. All Arabs are terrorists.

So when the bombs are falling in the Middle East, just remember the WTC, and it’s all okay. We have the right to our revenge. Of course. A dog bit me, so I’ll go on a conquest to make dogs extinct. When I kill an innocent puppy, I’ll remember the dog that bit me and feel no guilt. No remorse. It’s my right, as a superior being, to kill dogs. After all, there’s nothing they can do about it.

Of course, there are theories claiming that 9/11 was a government conspiracy, but I won’t discuss the possibility, firstly because I’m not really into Anti-American conspiracies, secondly because I’m scared of the CIA. (Who isn’t?)

But, conspiracy or not, you must admit I DID rub meat juice on my arm and waved it in front of the dog before it attacked me.

So, in summary, we are raised in a society where our country is perfect, but could be destroyed at any moment by “mad Arabs” or perhaps even “crazy Koreans”, so it’s a good thing if we kill them, “just in case”.

What’s that I hear? We’re destroying the environment? AGAIN? This is getting boring; I thought we destroyed it all last week. Oh well. I hear the “mad Arabs” live on some good oil reserves. How’s that for killing two birds with one stone?

But enough of my ramblings, fire up the SUV, time for a Big Mac.
