The Theory of Advanced Mechanization and Automation of Modern Society

by Shadow88

With society continually collapsing and reforming, each time usually with some technological advancement to their predecessors, it has eventually become possible to replace the need for human labour.

Within the next 5 decades, computer intelligence and automation will be able to replicate all the possible labours of the human body – the fact that machines are far more efficient then organics in this respect is what will push the technologies into acceptance.

This has already been seen in a beginning level with car manufacturing and other mass-production factories. Simple, repetitious work is of the type easily replicated by machines, but with the advancement of AI, any job, no matter how menial or creative it is could be imitated to a perfect degree. Orchestral composition, novel authoring, movie directing, song writing and politics are just a few of the many things which will eventually be taken over by machines.

With the abolishment of human labour, society itself will be completely reformed. Currency and wealth as we know it will no longer exist, and with it the eventually abolishment of social classes will finally come about.

Another side-effect of this would be a massive reduction in the need for armed combat. It is even possible, though not likely that war as a whole will be universally abolished as an archaic triviality, such as dueling is today.

This will leave the human race with a 24-hour recreation day. Everyone will live in relative luxury, with all the necessities, commodities, and luxuries of life being mass produced by robots for free. Because people will no longer need to work in order to survive anymore, or even work to increase their power over other humans, this will leave the species as a whole psychologically impacted on a deep level. Only the few aristocrats of past ages would be without such needs, and even he or she would usually have responsibilities to rule and oversee their own province/kingdom.

The only fact or inevitability is that civilization will collapse, whether it be in the next ten years, or the next ten hundred years.

Many people have tried to distance us from the civilizations of old, saying that with our modern technologies we shall not, nay, cannot fall. No matter what the level of technology a society possesses, as long as there are humans behind the technology. Even an entire colonized galaxy has the potential to fall into chaos.

Humans will always continue to lie, cheat, steal, and desire power as long as they remain human. It is what defines us, as a species and as the dominant form of life on this planet, or even in the known universe.

We should not fear such a collapse. Instead we should prepare for it, should even embrace it and try to make it easier for the next ‘generation’ to endure and survive such a collapse easier.

The best thing we can do is not try to futilely safeguard from it or try to put it off, but to prepare volumes of both practical and impractical knowledge and ways to decode such knowledge, so that our future descendants will be able to ‘rise out of the ashes’ and create a new society stronger than the one before it in a far quicker timespan.

A new society based on better ideas, and after a period of renaissance and rediscovery eventually better technology too.

Just as there will be a Second Dark Age, there will also be a Second Renaissance, and that is why we should not despair that what we know now will end.
