Download caps, extra charges.

edited April 2011 in Tech & Games
I figure between me and my roomate, we download about 100gb per month, mostly p2p and streaming. There has been a lot of talk about charging users extra for high use, mostly due to things like Netflix, which can stream 7gb blu ray quality movies as fast as you can suck them up. Has anyone gotten a notice with their bill advising them that they might be subject to extra charges because of high downloading habits?

I don't know about wherever you live, but here, unlimited usually comes with a fair use policy. That means you can download and upload however much you want between 2 an 7 AM - when you don't disturb digital TV and commercial internet services - as long as you limit yourself to about 60 GB a month outside of those hours.
