Guides Section

edited September 2010 in Help and Suggestions
I know, its not like we need ANOTHER section to the forum... But we're having a few more guides posted up on the boards lately, and it would be a shame to see them get buried under new threads.

I think we should keep links to them in a safe section so that they're easy to find and browse through.

Kinda... Just a suggestion.

I'd like to see something more like an archived section for each forum as there is on Zoklet.

Although, maybe have it a bit more noticeable.

That's a cool suggestion too. Don't threads already get archived around here? I swear I saw an archived thread here once.

If you want I can add an Guide Prefix for Totse. It will available on all sections and you can just use it to mark your Thread as a Guide Thread. It can be searched using Vbull and I might get a button in place with some help from our coding friends.

I am going to add the Guide Prefix anyway.

Done, implementing the change forum wide.

Thats awesome bro. So, to use the prefix, what do we have to do? Just write Guide: before our thread title?

Also, I love the idea of the button.

Sweet, thanks for the head's up. Now going to write myself another guide :D

EDIT: Hold on. Why do we have Guide, Tutorial AND how to? Aren't they all the same thing?

Dfg, can you make it a single tag? How-to will be fine.

Otherwise, all the guides will split up depending on what people tag them as/what people search for.

Actually there is a difference between Guide/How-to and Tutorial.

I was just testing it. We can have a Guide and How-to prefix or just guide.

Guide and How-to would be a healthy balance :D

Is there a way to add the "guide" tag to threads which are already made?

Ask the local mod to edit your thread or just link it here.

Maybe a 'troll' or 'fail' prefix that mods can attach to threads :D

That would be funny but I'm afraid we're going to have a million prefixes :o
