I couldn't help you mate. I rarely see the sun and my room is converted to blackout (no light gets in or out unless I want it too). I look like a vampire.
Incandescent = glass bulb (edison). They are very inefficient and a 100w lightbulb only makes 3 watts of light. They are being phased out by these (they will in fact be illegal in 2014)
CFL = compact florescent lamp (swirly ones). They are replacing the edison lamps. They are fairly efficient, with a 14 watt one making 2.5watts of light. That's why on the box it says "60 watt equivalent" (because people actually think light is measured in watts )
LED = These are very efficient, with a 7 watt lamp making 3 watts of light. They are expensive though at about $20 each online, but they never die.
I posted this here because it is necessary to have optimal lighting, especially as a student!
Argh, tell me about it. It's important to let sunlight in, and have balanced room lighting as it helps you study. My room sucks for this though, its actually terrible. My light emits a kinda yellow haze everywhere, its a killer on the eyes!

But the real question is, why the FUCK did you post it in this forum section?

No. Getting different light bulbs.
They're different things. A new light could cost me a lot more than just finding different and brighter, more natural bulbs.
