There are tons of awesomwe electronics kits. These things come with foolproof instructions so you needn't know WTF you're doing. You need to be really incompetent to fuck them up. They always cheaper than buying ready made products, and you can proudly say "I put that together"

I saw that last thread you made. Even with the instructions what are the chances of fucking up somehow? It looks pretty cool. Next time I get some cash I may have to get one of these. It couldnt hurt to learn.

Nah not really; they pretty much make them step by step. I suppose you could fuck it up by hooking a 9v circuit to a 120v line, but if you manage to do that, you likely have bigger problems to worry about.

Go for it! Get the AMFM108TK model. No IC's so you can see how everything is happening. If you have an oscilloscope like me, the board isn't compact so it's easy to probe around and see how a radio works. If not, just build it and listen to some tunes.

They can be a multitude of things. The correct term is AC signals. Let's say your computer is acting weird, and it was made during the height of the bad capacitor fiasco. So you suspect the filter caps might be bad. You place the probes across the suspect cap, and if you see this it's good, but if you see this it's bad.

Maybe your plug in the wall FM radio sounds like shit. So you plug the o-scope to the audio out and see this.


Now there's two things wrong. There's the big smooth wave where there shouldn't be, and that is 60hz hum leaking through. Bad filter capacitors. There's also the bouncy noise, and that could be caused by interference from a nearby device, or a fucked up Frequency converter.

Well I suppose if the probes are made of dissimilar metals and your ass is wet it could make a battery. The jiggling probes would increase and decrease the voltage and you may see something like this.
