Trolling should be allowed as long as it's entertaining. That's one of the things that made Totse what it was.

High quality trolling, the kind where you either can't be sure you are being trolled, or are entertained by the fact you are being trolled, should be an acceptable activity.

It's the shitty trolls who cause problems.

High Quality trolling in the proper forums should not be punished. Maybe at most a warning. Shitty trolls should be banned. Spammers should be banned. brandon's should be banned. Thats about all I can think of right now.

Yeah, only ban spam, shit like brandon, fail-trolls and people posting personal info. No need to come up with infractions and all that stupid shit from Zoklet.

Yeah pretty much this. I don't think there should be any rigid rules when it comes to infractions/banning. If you are a brandon/spammer/fail troll or posting personal info your gone. Thats it. Of course pm'ed warnings should be given out to quality posters if they start fucking up but other than that we should just ban people.

Remember that thread I made in NFHC at Zoklet where I said I got an heroin infection? High Quality Trolling because people actually believed it.

Brandons posts are low quality trolling.

"No trolling" is too broad a rule to enforce responsibly. As long as the trolling itself doesn't violate any core rules, I see it as any other post. It's up to the community to deal with trolls the way they see fit. Feed them, starve them, turn them into folk heroes like tr1p, whatever.

    For me it's:
If it brings the site into potential legal trouble - you know, the usual: no sources, no 'organizing illegal activities', no child porn - that's a ban.

Flooding/spamming is ban. Posting the same rant, advertisement, or announcement in multiple forums is moral equivalent of sending SPAM e-mail to people. We hate SPAM.

One Account Per Person. If you want to create a new identity, create a new account and stop using your old account. Obviously still in effect.

If you post a link to a harmful script (password stealer, system crasher, other assorted nasties) you must identify it as a link that can cause harm. Trying to trick people into clicking on a harmful link can get you booted. Can and WILL get you booted. Also in effect.

Do not post messages with credit card numbers, calling card numbers, passwords to private computer systems, other user's real names and personal info (including pictures), or unsolicited phone numbers. This should go without saying - no personal info.

Getting the picture? Use the old totse FAQ as a guideline.

This would always randomly get me into shit on totse (For a while, the rule was no pictures, as you couldn't prove it was you) and Zoklet.

Just to confirm a few things for myself and other users:

If you post your own picture, is it fair game?

What about other information, such as location/phone number?

What is the general consensus of us posting our own pictures?

Well, hopefully today, I will make a thread and post the suggest infractions for everyone to see. You can then decided what to add and remove.

Personally, I think we should have black or white rules. Trolling is a bit hard to define and that fucks it up.

    What I prefer is:
    Flooding>
    Users is flooding. Ban

    Flooding>
    User posted 2 threads. Ban

It's one of the mistakes we did on Zoklet. We need to make this one right. It's important.

I think we should lighten up on trolling. Brandon was funny.

Other than that, I kinda support the personal information thing, but I don't think it should be a permaban. Maybe just 7 days for the first, 30 days for the second, and a permaban for the third. Of course, mods would delete personal info threads though.
