I saw this on totse2 but It was interesting enough that I decided to post it here. It also includes links where you can buy a lot of the weapons mentioned. Here is one of the weapons mentioned where you can convert a flare gun too a .38 caliber pistol.

Edit: Ok so the only thing that I think would be a problem is the flare gun. In the description it said you can even bring it on a plane. I highly doubt they would let you do that without even inspecting it first. And when they do that you are fucked
