Let me tell you one thing good about religion, as with any long standing and influential system, it's attitude towards and its wisdom on women.
Here are a few few of my favourite passages (King James Bible- Cambridge edition):
ECCLESIASTES 7:26
26 And I find more bitter than death the woman, whose
heart is snares and nets, and her hands as bands: whoso
pleaseth God shall escape from her; but the sinner shall be
taken by her.
1 CORINTHIANS 14:34-35
34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is
not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded
to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their
husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in

LEVITICUS 12:1-5

conceived seed, and born a man child: then she shall be
unclean seven days; according to the days of the separation
for her infirmity shall she be unclean.
3 And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be
circumcised.
4 And she shall then continue in the blood of her purifying
three and thirty days; she shall touch no hallowed thing, nor
come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying be
fulfilled.
5 But if she bear a maid child, then she shall be unclean two
weeks, as in her separation: and she shall continue in the
blood of her purifying threescore and six days.
LEVITICUS 27:1-7

When a man shall make a singular vow, the persons shall
be for the LORD by thy estimation.

shekels.

day he heard them; then whatsoever proceeded out of her
lips concerning her vows, or concerning the bond of her
soul, shall not stand: her husband hath made them void; and
the LORD shall forgive her.
DEUTERONOMY 20:13-16
13 And when the LORD thy God hath delivered it into thine
hands, thou shalt smite every male thereof with the edge of
the sword:
14 But the women, and the little ones, and the cattle, and all
that is in the city, even all the spoil thereof, shalt thou take
unto thyself; and thou shalt eat the spoil of thine enemies,
which the LORD thy God hath given thee.
15 Thus shalt thou do unto all the cities which are very far
off from thee, which are not of the cities of these nations.
16 But of the cities of these people, which the LORD thy
God doth give thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive
nothing that breatheth
DEUTERONOMY 21:10-13
10 ¶ When thou goest forth to war against thine enemies,
and the LORD thy God hath delivered them into thine hands,
and thou hast taken them captive,
11 And seest among the captives a beautiful woman, and
hast a desire unto her, that thou wouldest have her to thy
wife;
12 Then thou shalt bring her home to thine house; and she
shall shave her head, and pare her nails;
13 And she shall put the raiment of her captivity from off
her, and shall remain in thine house, and bewail her father
and her mother a full month: and after that thou shalt go in
unto her, and be her husband, and she shall be thy wife.
DEUTERONOMY 22:23-27
23 ¶ If a damsel that is a virgin be betrothed unto an
husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her;
24 Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that
city, and ye shall stone them with stones that they die; the
damsel, because she cried not, being in the city; and the
man, because he hath humbled his neighbour’s wife: so
thou shalt put away evil from among you.
25 ¶ But if a man find a betrothed damsel in the field, and
the man force her, and lie with her: then the man only that
lay with her shall die:
26 But unto the damsel thou shalt do nothing; there is in the
damsel no sin worthy of death: for as when a man riseth
against his neighbour, and slayeth him, even so is this
matter:
27 For he found her in the field, and the betrothed damsel
cried, and there was none to save her.
So what we learn from these passages are that a woman's role in the church is to keep her yapping mouth shut in church and just ask her husband to explain things to her at home, women should never be teachers because they are easily deceived, a woman must obey her husband in all matters, men are worth more than women, the woman is unclean for seven days if the child is a boy, but she is unclean for twice as long if the child is a girl, she must dress modestly and have long hair, women's guarantees and promises can't be trusted because women are deceitful and manipulative and because a woman's promise is null and void if her husband disapproves of it and that rape is the fault of women if not in an area where there are men and she doesn't shout for help and in times of war women are to be taken as slaves and bondsmaids. Women in places the Lord gives His chosen people as an inheritance are to be killed along with every other living thing.
And in the Koran:
"Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more (strength) than the other, and because they support them from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient, and guard in (the husband's) absence what Allah would have them guard. As to those women on whom part you fear disloyalty and ill conduct, admonish them (first), (next), refuse to share their beds, (and last) beat them (lightly); but if they return to obedience, seek not against them means (of annoyance) for Allah is Most High, Great (above you all). (Ali's version of the Koran, Quran, 4:34)
I've always said religion is 2/3rds a rotten apple (especially the Abrahamic religions of Christianity, Judaism and Islam), well this is the 1/3 that is great. NO ONE ever put a woman in charge of shit or had some false sense of equality between men and women, not any long lasting culture or tradition anyway. This is one thing I can respect religion for, and that's keeping its balls attached to its man self and not handing them over to a woman or even its values revolving around a woman.
Whether or not you believe in Jesus, Allah, YHWH or any of those, there is one fact you can’t argue with: they were men. No long standing and influential religion anywhere put a woman in charge of shit.
I'm thinking when I decide to kids I'll just go to a church and pick up a cunt from there and then slowly work on undoing their beliefs and converting them to atheism but keeping the patriarchist aspects in the relationship.
