Just so you know you'll need an assload of matches for this because the yield is terrible but this does work.

Ingredients: -Boxes of matches (standard matches).
-Boiled Water.
-Ice
Materials:
-Flour Sift and bowl flour sift will sit on.
-2 Large Glass Jars with a lid
-Coffee Filters
Method:
-Cut off all the match heads (the coloured part).
-Place the match heads into a jar
-Add boiled water double the volume of the match heads.
-Put the lid on the jar and shake thoroughly until you notice the powder separating from the sticks of the match heads (also the water will change colour to more red if using red matches, blue if using blue matches, etc).
-Take off the jar lid and poor the contents onto the sift with the bowl under it. This separates all the wood from the important liquid.
-Let it settle for a minute then poor the liquid at the top (into a jar or different bowl), leaving behind a more gunky and thick liquid at the bottom of the bowl. The gunky material is not needed and can be thrown out.
-Now filter this liquid with a coffee filter (this can take time).
-Boil the liquid until most of the water has evaporated.
-Put the remaining material into a pot and into an ice bath (sink or container with ice in it).
-Now you will have a crystal, sludge material left over. This needs to be left to dry. To dry it fast put the jar in boiled water for a while. For normal drying just air it out.
