Why does everything look like shit?
No matter what distro I install the type looks like dog shit smeared on the screen.
Am I missing something?Maybe its my video card I dont know.Is there a true type setting that I'm missing.
Computer info.

I like all things linux and I'm willing to learn but if the screen makes my eyes bleed whats the point.
Comments
Or perhaps you were wanting a specific type of font dude then you would do something like theeeeesssss.
If it's just visual eyecandy your after dude, then try this place:
http://gnome-look.org/
I guess now would be a silly time to ask what linux distro you're using?
Linux is terrible when it comes to fonts. The fonts you want are TrueType fonts.

EDIT: Bk beat me to it.
btw I'm running mint13 cinnamin 64 bit so far it works good.
Nice. I haven't used Mint in a long while, I've never even heard of "Mint13 Cinnamin" before! Any questions regarding Linux, just post them in the forums. We've all got some Linux experience here, especially Slartibartfast
Imagine if there were a review thread.....
hint, hint.....
BK I'm not qualified to give a review, all I know is that it works ok and it has not crashed yet.
I installed MS fonts but now I don't know where they are.No big deal I only screw around with linux stuff just for fun,I don't care if it breaks.
Probably the same for mint. you don't really have to anything with them though, they're already installed. you can also drag any ttf into that folder and they'll be detected (after running sudo fc-cache)
It's all good! Don't need a review. It's just me being lazy and not downloading the live cd to trial it.
Do you have font size issues of something dude?
I think a few people are having font problems with Mint13 from size to bold etc. There are some Qs and solutions in the Mint forum.
Seems like a pretty well supported distro judging by their forum....
Now I boot off of a win 7 40 gig intel solid state hard drive and have a secondary hybrid drive.
This thing is FAST.If you don't know what a hybrid drive is this is the one I have.

So far so good.
When I get some extra time I will order up another hybrid drive and reinstall Mint on it.
See the case I use has a port for 2.5" hard drives right on the front so I can swap drives around without opening the case, need another OS no problem just shut down swap it and reboot.
Works real nice.
