Do you do it for a living?
I wish I could take credit for those other Melbourne photos, but sadly they're not mine
I do eventually plan on taking up photography as a profession, but will have to study photography at University first.
Seriously they look like a bunch of dominoes......
Oh right, I hate that part. I know some people that have started off small like doing wedding photos, or working at a camera place which might introduce you to the right sort of people.
In an industry like this I find a lot of it is based on who you know, not what you know. Some people can make it big without even studying simply by knowing the right people, and if you're good at what you do then it should be sweet.

Personally I think the Australia pics are the best. Either that or NYC. I really want to go there
Buying a DSLR was the best thing I ever did. It may not be as easy to carry around as a point-and-shoot, but the quality it produces is well worth the bulk and pain in the butt it is to carry.
Photoshop is generally quite easy to pick up. It just takes a bit of exploring and reading of guides. You don't realise how quickly you become familiar with what everything does.
Yep, quite a few are HDR. I was absolutely obsessed with HDR images for a while
What EV difference did you use? Also, is yours a full frame camera? I noticed vignetting in some of the pics.
If you don't plan on spending much (>1K), the Sony ones are the best ones for your money IMO. Plus they can also use Minolta lenses, and there's a whole lot used ones cheap.
I usually just mess with the exposure until I'm happy with it. Nope, not full frame and I added the vignette with cs5.
