Intellectual Laziness of Believers of God
by Jokerman
Any argument which attempts to prove that atheists are intellectually lazy is both intellectually flawed and contradictory. If people have the capacity to put forth their own perceptions of the existence of god, and limit these beliefs to strict literal interpretation and required rules and regulations, isnt this a blatant self imposed limitation believers put on their intellectual freedom?
Atheists examine, discover, and explore meanings of existence as much, if not more than believers in god. Simply because they do not limit their scope to a specific school of thought, namely the human construct of god, does not make atheists intellectually lazy. Atheism is simply the disbelief of God. If people cannot see with their own current perceptions that there is existence of god, why should they conform to the standards set by the mass religions which are analogous to the belief of God?
Belief in god is just as limiting as atheism; both concentrate on the absolute and thus people limit themselves in their intellectual thought and imagination.
