Biden Shows That He is a Coward at Press Conference: When Afghanistan Comes Up, He Turns Tail and Runs

President Biden re-emerged from his “retreat” at Camp David only to show that he is every bit as cowardly as his Afghan withdrawal order suggests.

Biden’s speech was essentially a threat to governors around the country lawfully and rightfully opposing non-legally binding CDC ”guidance” about children wearing masks in schools.

The president is clearly trying to use a divisive wedge issue as a lightning rod to take attention off his disastrous and preventable Afghan withdrawal, which now risks the lives of thousands of Americans. Biden did not heed the advice of his generals when he pulled military troops out before evacuating American diplomatic staff and allies, thereby putting them in harm’s way to face atrocities at the hands of the Taliban.

Biden made several unsubstantiated claims about how masks purportedly protect children, despite children not being statistically at risk and the evidence on the efficacy of masks being practically non-existent in the real world.

Psss… Important. You may kiss your retirement savings goodbye…

“Just remember, we have two key and two key ways of protecting ourselves against Covid-19. One, safe, free, and effective vaccines. And, two, masks,” he claimed. “Vaccines are the best defense. But masks are extremely helpful as well.”

“And for those who aren’t eligible for the vaccine yet, children under the age of 12, masks are the best available protection for them and the adults around them,” he said, although children are not statistically at risk from Covid. “That’s why we need to make sure children are wearing masks in school.”

“Before I talk about the news related to vaccines, let me say a few words about masks and our children,” he went on. “Unfortunately, as you’ve seen throughout this pandemic, some politicians are trying to turn public safety measures, that is children wearing masks in school, into political disputes for their own political gain. Some are even trying to take power away from local educators by banning masks in school. They’re setting a dangerous tone.”

“For example, last week at a school board meeting in Tennessee, protesters threatened doctors and nurses who were testifying making the case for masking children in schools,” he said. “The intimidation and the threats we are seeing across the country are wrong, they’re unacceptable.”

“Now, I’ve said before, this isn’t about politics, it’s about keeping our children safe,” Biden claimed. “It’s about taking on the virus together, united. I’ve made it clear that I’ll stand with those who are trying to do the right thing.”

“Last week, I called school superintendents in Florida and Arizona to thank them for doing the right thing and requiring masks in their schools,” he said. “One of them said, we teach science so we follow the science. The other said a guiding principle, students first. I couldn’t agree more with what they both said.”

“And that’s why today I’m directing the secretary of education, an educator himself, to take additional steps to protect our children,” he went on. “This includes using all of his oversight authorities and legal action if appropriate against governors who are trying to block and intimidate local school officials and educators.”

“As I said before, if you aren’t going to fight Covid-19, at least get out of the way of everyone else who’s trying,” he went on. “You know, we’re not going to sit by as governors try to block and intimidate educators protecting our children. For example, if a governor wants to cut the pay of a hardworking education leader who requires mask in a classroom, the money from the American rescue plan can be used to pay that person’s salary 100%.”

“I’m going to say a lot more about children in schools next week. But as we head into the school year, remember this,” he went on. “The Centers for Disease Control and Pprevention, the CDC, says masks are critical, especially for those who are not yet vaccinated like our children under the age of 12.”

“So let’s put politics aside. Let’s follow the educators and the scientists who know a lot more about how to teach our children and keep them safe than any politician,” he went on. “This administration is always going to take the side of our children.”

The president then turned and exited without taking any questions. You can hear reporters yelling questions about Afghanistan, and that country’s fleeing president Ghani.

This is the imperious foolishness that Americans have come to expect from President Biden. It is the same kind of cowardly act Biden displayed when he issued his military withdrawal order on Afghanistan, thereby leaving Americans and Afghan women and children in harm’s way. No one should listen to anything Biden says about anything. Governors should continue to act as executives of their states, because effectively, America doesn’t have a real president.
