While President Joe Biden is catching up on sleep at his home in Delaware, the Taliban is holding six planes filled with Americans and allies hostage in Northern Afghanistan.
Since President Biden has made it clear that these trapped Americans are on their own, retired Special Forces and U.S. Veterans are taking matters into their own hands to bring the stranded Americans home.
The American heroes reportedly have 6 chartered airplanes (four 737s and two others) on the Tarmac in northern Afghanistan with the people rescued and can’t get the administration’s help.
The planes cannot take off unless the Taliban clears them which can easily be handled with a telephone call. Our heroes and the people they rescued are sitting ducks, hostages of the Taliban, who operate the airport at Mazar-i-Sharif. It’s only a matter of time before they’re targeted. The Taliban want recognition from the US gov’t, in order to receive a lot of money.
During an interview with Fox News host Chris Wallace, GOP Rep. Michael McCaul discussed the ongoing situation at the Mazar-i-Sharif airport where the six planes have been held up for days.

“In fact we have six airplanes at Mazar-i-Sharif airport, six airplanes, with American citizens on them as I speak, also with these interpreters, and the Taliban is holding them hostage for demands right now,” McCaul said.
“State has cleared these flights and the Taliban will not let them leave the airport,” he added.In a statement, the US State Department said: “We understand the concern that many people are feeling as they try to facilitate further charter and other passage out of Afghanistan. However, we do not have personnel on the ground, we do not have air assets in the country, we do not control the airspace – whether over Afghanistan or elsewhere in the region.”The spokesperson for the department said they did not have “reliable means to confirm the basic details of charter flights.”
“We will hold the Taliban to its pledge to let people freely depart Afghanistan,” the spokesperson continued. “As with all Taliban commitments, we are focused on deeds not words, but we remind the Taliban that the entire international community is focused on whether they live up to their commitments.”
“They are not clearing the airplanes to depart,” McCaul said. “They’ve sat at the airport for the last couple days – these planes – and they’re not allowed to leave.”
“We know the reason why is because the Taliban want something in exchange,” he went on to say. “This is really, Chris, turning into a hostage situation where they’re not going to allow American citizens to leave until they get full recognition from the United States of America.”
