BREAKING: Texas Senate Passes Sweeping Election Reform Measures That Draw Instant Backlash from Biased Media

The Texas Senate has just passed non-controversial bills that will ‘restrict’ illegal voters from casting ballots in the Lone Star State’s elections. The measures include purging the voter rolls of non-citizens and non-residents, thereby making it harder for unqualified voters to participate in U.S. elections.

According to the Texas Scorecard, Senate Bill 155, “adds the Texas attorney general to the list of officials receiving information about voters who identify themselves as not meeting citizenship or residency qualifications for jury service. This means they are also ineligible to be registered to vote in the county in which they were called to serve on a jury—or, in the case of non-citizens, at all.”

“Texas Senate, on an 18-13 vote, passed #SB155 cleaning voter rolls of all non-citizens/residents and giving the AG power to use jury lists to purge voters,” Tim Swain, a senate candidate, noted.

“SB 155, as well as its House companion HB 2339, were identified by the Texas GOP as meeting its election integrity policy goals of verifying voter citizenship,” the Post Millennial reported.

“The House has until tonight to vote on the bill before the current session ends. The bill would have to be on the governor’s desk on May 31 for his signature.”

“In Texas, the combination Bill 7 also aims to deal with election integrity by curtailing the use of drop boxes, banning drive-thru voting and 24-hour voting, and requiring voters to request absentee ballots rather than allowing election officials to send applications to all voters,” the report continued. “Early voting hours would also be set from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. The passage of Senate Bill 155 follows upon a number of election integrity wins for the state on Sunday, including the implementation of strict voter IDs. The usual suspects in the media, which oppose every attempt to make U.S. elections free, fair and secure, lashed out against the measures.”

“After a dramatic all-night debate, the Texas Senate approved one of the most restrictive voting bills in the country early Sunday on a party-line vote, despite emotional pleas from Democrats who likened the measure to the Jim Crow laws of the 20th century that effectively barred Black Americans from voting in Southern states,” the Washington Post reported.

“The Republican-majority House was scheduled to take up the measure Sunday night, but late-in-the-day huddles between Republicans and Democrats reflected the depth of Democratic opposition to the measure and raised questions about whether they were planning to invoke procedural maneuvers to try to kill it,” the report continued. “If the legislation passes, Gov. Greg Abbott (R) is expected to sign it quickly.”

President Biden called the election security legislation “wrong and un-American,” and Democrats vowed to immediately fight it in court. Republicans should ignore the dishonest propagandists and continue to secure U.S. elections, anyway.
