Donald Trump Slams Biden’s Radical $3.5 Trillion Climate Plan

Donald Trump has no shortage of words over the Biden administration’s “assault on our Nation” through its new $3.5 trillion “antipoverty and climate” plan.

In a press release, Trump railed against the $3.5 trillion infrastructure bill that just made its way through the Senate, declaring the piece of legislation an “assault on our Nation, on our communities, and on the American Dream.”

The bill, which serves as a blueprint for the Biden administration’s efforts to tackle climate change, poverty, and other major issues at the forefront of progressive politics, has faced stiff opposition from Republicans who regard the legislation as a blank check for Democrats to reshape the country as part of Biden’s “Build Back Better” initiative.

“Good morning, America! While you were all sleeping, the Radical Democrats advanced a plan that will be known as the $3.5 trillion Communist Plan to Destroy America,” wrote the former president. “This legislation is an assault on our Nation, on our communities, and on the American Dream.”

“It destroys our Borders and the rule of law by granting dangerous amnesty that will flood America’s beautiful cities,” Trump continued. “It will overwhelm our schools, and make our Nation less safe. It raises taxes like we have never seen, while also making many things you buy everyday more expensive (gas, groceries, and much more). And don’t forget the crazy Green New Deal. America, you are being robbed in the dark of night. It’s time to wake up!”

Despite being billed as an “infrastructure” bill, the Democratic FY2022 Budget Resolution Agreement Framework includes hundreds of billions in funds for public housing, equity, and community land trusts, measures to address carbon emissions, solar and wind energy technologies, electrification, and modernization of the federal vehicle fleet and federal buildings toward green energy, green materials procurement, and even $107 billion to establish “lawful permanent status for qualified immigrants,” as detailed by Investopedia.

The radical plan also calls for universal pre-kindergarten, two free years of community college, and a massive expansion of Medicare, all of which will be paid for through increased taxes on corporations and high-income families.Advertisement

As detailed in the Wall Street Journal, the so-called anti-poverty and climate plan’s overhaul of the nation’s healthcare and education systems will also expand Medicare to cover hearing, dental, and vision care, among other provisions.

WSJ reports:

Democrats will turn to it after the roughly $1 trillion infrastructure package, which includes new spending on roads, bridges, transit and broadband internet and is expected to pass the Senate on Tuesday. Lawmakers said they had resolved a dispute over a new cryptocurrency regulation in the public works bill, though the solution may not receive an amendment vote.

The two packages represent almost the entirety of President Biden’s economic agenda, with Democrats shoehorning a variety of policy goals into the $3.5 trillion plan to sidestep Republican opposition in the Senate.

Writing an op-ed for the Wall Street Journal, Democrat Sen. Bernie Sanders voiced his support for the inclusion of Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s so-called “Civilian Climate Corps,” a fully-salaried force made up of hundreds of thousands of young people to fight climate change.

Sanders wrote:

Perhaps most important, we will begin the process of shifting our energy system away from fossil fuels and toward sustainable energy to combat the existential threat of climate change. This effort will include a nationwide clean-energy standard that moves our transportation system, electrical generation, buildings and agriculture toward clean energy. We will also create a Civilian Climate Corps, which will hire hundreds of thousands of young people to protect our natural resources and fight against climate change.

The corps was described by Ocasio-Cortez and Democrat Senator Ed Markey, who jointly proposed its inclusion, as a “diverse and equitable” group that will employ “explicit antiracist language,” “prioritize labor groups,” and enact “tribal sovereignty protections.”

If passed as part of the reconciliation package, the “Civilian Climate Corps for Jobs and Justice Act” would cost $70 billion, to be spent between 2021 and 2025.

On Wednesday, the Democrats advanced the massive budget plan in a 50 to 49 vote, paving the way for a final vote on the issue as various propositions will be debated and voted on to be included in the plan.
