Failed sports reporter and fired MSNBC pundit Keith Olbermann had quite the Fourth of July message for America this year. He wants to pin the blame for Ashli Babbitt’s death on Donald Trump.
“This is a fatal mistake, for groups like Patriot Front, have been given license by Trump and have been emboldened by Trump, and they will not go away until we make them go away,” Olbermann said cryptically.
“And what makes them especially dangerous now is not just that they delusionally believe Trump will somehow be restored to the presidency next month,” he went on. “It’s that Trump is now demanding the identity of the peace officer who shot Ashli Babbitt, one of the terrorists who attacked the Capitol during Trump’s last coup attempt,” Olbermann added.
None of the Capitol rioters, protesters, or extremists were armed with firearms, so it is unclear how it could have been a “coup attempt.” But this is left-wing fantasyland we’re talking about, so bear with him.

“He wants the name unmasked so that his worshippers can try to kill the officer, just as they wanted to kill Mike Pence,” he added. “Donald Trump is not, in the functioning sense of the term, a human being. To him, only his needs matter, only he exists.”
“The worst of his followers, like Patriot Front, agree with him,” he said. “In point of fact, of course, if Donald Trump were to unmask the person responsible for killing Ashli Babbitt, he would be unmasking himself. Ashli Babbitt was killed by Donald Trump as sure as if Trump pulled the trigger, as will whoever gets killed when the Patriot Front scum inevitably reach that point.”
Olbermann posted the video in a non-sensical post on Twitter: “HAPPY 4TH OF JULY. In Philadelphia it was ‘celebrates’ with a White Supremacist rally; in Florida, with Trump demanding the unmasking of the officer who killed one of his terrorists so his terrorists can now try to kill the officer. Our patience with Fascism must end. Now.”
Keith Olbermann is obviously responding to Donald Trump, who recently asked a simple question: “Who shot Ashli Babbitt?” It was a question he would repeat at the Sarasota, Florida rally on July 3rd.
It appears that the current House Sergeant of Arms may have given the public a possible lead about the identity of the shooter at a Congressional hearing. Timothy Blodgett, in an exchange with Rep. Herrera-Buetler during a hearing on Jan. 6 that appeared on C-SPAN, seems to have casually dropped the name.

“The situation where you discussed, where Officer [Byrd] was at the door when Ms. Babbitt was shot, it was our Sergeant at Arms employee who rendered the aid.”
It is interesting that Blodgett names an “Officer Byrd” in the context of Ashli Babbitt’s shooting. An African-American Lieutenant Mike Byrd was reported by Roll Call as having once left his service weapon in a bathroom in 2019.
“A U.S. Capitol Police lieutenant left his service weapon in a bathroom Monday night and the unattended gun was discovered later by another Capitol Police officer,” Roll Call reported.
“After the House adjourned on Monday, Lt. Mike Byrd left his Glock 22 in a bathroom in the Capitol Visitor Center complex, according to sources familiar with the incident,” the report said. “Byrd is the commander of the House Chambers section of the Capitol Police and was on the job Tuesday and Wednesday.”
Of course, since it’s a Trump supporter who was shot — the only person seemingly killed on January 6th at the Capitol, despite all the media hysterics suggesting otherwise — Olbermann and his heavy mouthbreathing liberals do not care who shot her. Donald Trump and his supporters are not actual human beings, according to his warped logic, so why would they?
